The El Paso Fire Protection District is collecting donations throughout November and December to help support food pantries across Woodford County!

📦 We’re asking for:
• Canned goods
• Non-perishable items
• Baby formula
• Boxes food
• Diapers
• Toiletries

🧡 Drop off your donations in the container located by the EMS door at our station.

🚨 Public Notice: Training Exercise at the El Paso-Gridley High School this Friday, October 10th 🚨

Dear Community,

On Friday morning, area-wide police, fire and EMS will be conducting a training exercise at EPGHS. That morning you will see a large presence of police, emergency vehicles and first respnders on site as part of our training exercise. EPG school faculty will also be participating.

What to expect:
✔️ We will simulate emergency scenarios to help our teams be better prepared
✔️ There is no real emergency — it is a planned exercise
✔️Students and the general public will be prohibited from entering the school during the exercise.
✔️The immediate area surrounding the high school and Centennial building will be restricted from entering.
✔️ The streets surrounding the school will be open to traffic, but if possible, please avoid the area.

We appreciate your understanding and support. These training exercises help ensure we’re ready to serve our community better in real situations.

🚨 Training for Safer Communities 🚨

This past weekend, the El Paso Fire Protection District had the honor of hosting two Grain Bin Rescue Classes taught by Stateline Farm Rescue. We were proud to welcome first responders from over 20 different departments throughout central Illinois, who came together to learn, train, and prepare for emergencies that can happen in our farming communities.

A huge thank you to our sponsors who made this valuable training possible. Your support ensures our first responders are better prepared to protect lives and keep those in our farming community safe.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Andy Lindstrom, a founding member of the El Paso Emergency Squad, established in 1977.

Andy’s dedication, compassion, and service helped lay the foundation of our squad. His legacy of service lives on through his daughter, Daisy Leonard, who has faithfully served as an EMT with our squad for 25 years.

Please keep Andy’s family in your thoughts and prayers. His impact on our community will always be remembered. 💜🚑

🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage shown on September 11, 2001.

We remember the first responders—firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and paramedics—who ran toward danger without hesitation. Their bravery, sacrifice, and service remain an inspiration to us all.

As we mark the 24th anniversary of that tragic day, we reaffirm our commitment to serving our community with the same dedication and compassion.
