We just wrapped up an amazing camp here at Sun City Music Therapy in our sensory-friendly studio—the only one of its kind in the El Paso area. This week, we had the privilege of working with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities in a group music therapy setting.

The benefits of this work go far beyond just having fun (though we had plenty of that!):
🎵 Social Connection: Group music making encourages turn-taking, eye contact, and peer interaction in a natural, low-pressure way.
🎵 Motor Skills: Playing instruments helps refine fine and gross motor movements.
🎵 Emotional Regulation: Music provides a safe outlet for self-expression and helps reduce anxiety.
🎵 Cognitive Support: Following along with rhythms and songs supports focus, memory, and executive function.

It is a privilege to offer this unique space where every ability is celebrated.
