Heroes 4 our Heroes is a completely volunteer organization, based on a grass-root mentality of helping and serving those who have spent their lives sacrificing and serving us. Founded by an active duty veteran, whose combat deployments have opened doors to understanding traumatic events and how they affect the multitude of various personality sets… seeing the spike in veteran suicides and mental health issues… seeing the stigma first hand… As the legend of the phoenix is told, “out of the ashes, born anew”, so is Heroes 4 our Heroes. We are here to give our heroes a chance to find the resources they need to recover from PTSD, we also give them a chance to help each other find those resources. The basis of the services we provide: We are looking to provide an avenue of support for wounded warriors, veterans and those who suffer from PTS (not to exclude non-combat PTS). We are still young (only a few months old) so we need the help of our members to pass the word, share the information they find and to interact with each other through our page. It is open-forum, so your comments and stories are welcome; this will remain open until someone (trolls) forces us to place controls on user input. We don’t operate under communist mentality, individual opinions are welcome, but personal attacks are unacceptable. Please share us with your friends, so we can achieve a higher level of support, greater numbers are key to a wider reach and better support. Some day (further down the road) we hope to attain full 501c3 non-profit status, and start some of our own events, such as wounded warrior fishing trips, rides, wilderness adventures, etc... We are also looking into joining the service pet programs, first through assisting to place service dogs into the homes of those who need them and later (possibly) by building into the training and breeding programs… we shall see. Our “non-profit” status is not a tax exempt status. It is solely because there are $0 exchanging hands. Only information, connections and resources; everything here is absolutely free.
