Saving money shouldn’t come with a penalty. But saving money can feel impossible when you rely on benefits with strict asset rules.

ABLE accounts can help people with disabilities save, and as of January 1, 2026, you may qualify now even if you didn’t before.

Financial Literacy Month is a good time to understand what this means for you or your family. Swipe for the key takeaways, including who qualifies, what you can use ABLE funds for, and how to open an account.

💙 Happy National Siblings Day! 💙

Today we celebrate the built-in best friends, the protectors, the teachers, and sometimes… the biggest rivals. Siblings share a bond like no other—one filled with laughter, lessons, patience, and unconditional love.

For siblings of children with disabilities, your role is even more powerful. You learn empathy, advocacy, and strength in ways that shape the world for the better. You are seen, you are appreciated, and you are so important. 💫

Here’s to the moments you share, the memories you’re creating, and the lifelong connection that only siblings understand.

✨ Tag a sibling you love or share a favorite memory below!

Autism is a neurological difference that impacts how people experience and interact with the world around them. There is no one way to be autistic.

Some people may need very little support in their daily lives. Others have different strengths, needs, communication styles, or higher support needs.

On World Autism Day, we are sharing a few basics to help break down common assumptions and make space for a better understanding of autism.

Autism Acceptance Day 💙

Today is about more than awareness—it’s about acceptance, inclusion, and celebrating neurodiversity.

Autism is not something to “fix.” It’s a different way of experiencing the world. When we shift from awareness to acceptance, we:
✨ Embrace unique strengths
✨ Respect different communication styles
✨ Create inclusive spaces where everyone belongs

Let’s move beyond simply knowing about autism—and start valuing and supporting autistic individuals every day.

💬 How you can show acceptance today:
• Listen to autistic voices
• Use respectful, person-centered language
• Be patient and understanding
• Advocate for inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities

💙 Acceptance builds belonging. And belonging changes lives.

A new executive order on mail ballots and related legislation in Congress put voters with disabilities at real risk of losing access to the ballot. Restrictions on mail ballots push people with disabilities further from the decisions that shape their lives. The answer is to remove barriers to voting, not add new ones.

💚 Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day 💚

Today we come together to raise awareness, celebrate strength, and support individuals and families impacted by cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that affects movement, muscle tone, and coordination—but it does not define a person’s potential. Every individual has unique strengths, abilities, and a story worth celebrating.

✨ Did you know?
• CP is the most common motor disability in childhood
• It affects everyone differently
• Early support and therapies can make a big difference

Let’s continue to build a community rooted in:
💚 Understanding
💚 Inclusion
💚 Advocacy

Today—and every day—let’s choose acceptance, celebrate abilities, and create spaces where everyone can thrive.

💙💛 Today we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day! 💛💙

At The Arc of El Paso, we proudly celebrate the beauty, strength, and uniqueness of individuals with Down syndrome and all abilities.

March 21 (3/21) represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome—a powerful reminder that diversity makes our community stronger.

🧦 Join us by wearing your brightest, craziest socks to show your support!
📸 Snap a photo and share it with us—we’d love to see your style!
🤝 Take a moment to learn, advocate, and uplift voices in our community

Together, we can create a more inclusive world where everyone belongs and thrives.

💙 Let’s stand for acceptance.
💛 Let’s celebrate abilities.
🌟 Let’s build a stronger, more inclusive El Paso.

Our friends at Superior Health Plan are having some Sensory Friendly Movies coming up.

If you are not familiar with sensory friendly showings you can expect the lights to be on, the sound to be turned down, and children are free to move around if needed. This gives special needs families the opportunity to attend a movie together as a family.

No registration required, first come first serve.
