🙌 Semaglutide (Ozempic) Now Available! 🙌

Sometimes even with a healthy foundation of diet, exercise, and good sleep habits, reaching weight loss and sugar goals can be a challenge.

Ozempic (Semaglutide) and Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) are game-changers for many of my patients, accelerating results when diet and lifestyle changes are already in place.

So what's My Semaglutide Program? 👇

1️⃣ Trusted Pharmacy: I’m partnering with Women's International Pharmacy who provides top-quality compounded medications.

2️⃣ Limited Time: Six months ago, a similar opportunity was missed when another pharmacy closed their roster. I don’t want you to miss out this time!

3️⃣ Available Now: Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound) have been intermittently out of stock for months. Women's International Pharmacy has ramped up to serve you for at least a year.

🤔 Why is a Naturopath suggesting Semaglutide (Ozempic)?

Because its other health benefits include:

✔️ Slashing belly fat: lowering your risk of chronic disease
✔️ Boosting insulin sensitivity: helping metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes and diabetes
✔️ Lowering systemic inflammation, pain, and biome-originated digestive problems
✔️ Quieting food-related inner monologues
✔️ Getting sugar and glycemic control in hand, critical for Alzheimer's, cardiovascular disease, erectile dysfunction, Parkinson's and many more conditions

👉👉 My comprehensive program includes:

* Monthly Semaglutide Prescription
* Quarterly Personalized Consultations
* Medication Monitoring & Refills
* 10% Discount on Additional Visits

💖 Collaborative Care: My role is to ensure safety and effectiveness, while customizing the plan to your individual biochemistry. We will discuss all potential risks of taking this medication.

Not everyone is a good candidate for Semaglutide. If you're interested in exploring alternative options, I offer personalized hormone work and have an absolutely excellent personal trainer (via telemedicine!).

How almost anyone can lower their blood pressure in ONE WEEK👇

I’m not making this up!

This study was done at Northwestern University and recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

They found that 72% of all people could lower their blood pressure by 6-8 points—in one week…

Simply by reducing sodium in the diet 🧂

The participants were in their 50s, 60s, and 70s.

To get this result, they limited their sodium intake to 500 mg per day, which is lower than the 1500 mg max recommended by the American Heart Association.

The main culprits when it comes to high-sodium foods are processed, packaged, and fast foods, like:

▪️ 3 slices of bacon have 411 mg
▪️ 1 cup canned tomato soup has 471 mg
▪️ McDonald’s Big Mac has 1007 mg

But an apple only has 2 mg of sodium 🍏

Sodium is only one variable in the diet, but you can see how eating whole and fresh foods will win out over processed foods every time.

Estrogen & Weight Gain 👇

The fear of gaining weight is one of the main reasons women are often hesitant to take estrogen in any form—whether it’s for contraception or at menopause.

So is the fear valid?

A recent report (involving a complex literature search and a summary of 10 studies) found that NO!

Just the opposite, actually.

Estrogen taken as the pill or as hormone replacement at menopause INCREASED metabolism (resting energy expenditure)—suggesting it may actually protect against weight gain.

I’m not suggesting women should take estrogen to lose weight, but information is power.

The better we understand these mechanisms, the more informed choices we can make.

Seasonal Produce

What’s in season?

There are lots of benefits to eating seasonal produce—the most important being that it tastes better!

It’s easy to eat local produce through the summer months, but the winter gets a bit tricker. Here are some produce options that are in season in parts of the US and Canada in February:

▪️Broccoli: Roast it in the air-fryer with some olive oil and salt or stir-fry with garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes!

▪️Brussels sprouts: So good when roasted in the oven and topped with a sauce of peanut butter, tamari, and hot sauce 🌶️

▪️Cauliflower: There are so many things you can do with this veg, from simply roasting and topping with parmesan cheese to making gluten-free breadsticks 🥖

▪️Kale: People like to slam kale, but it’s so versatile that you can make it into chips, stir-fry, or even smoothies.

Another bonus of this seasonal produce is that they are all cruciferous vegetables, which means they support healthy detoxification and even hormone health 👏

Other produce in season includes citrus fruits, squash, sweet potatoes, fennel, radishes, and potatoes 🥔

Happiness

What’s the happiest age?

Sounds like an impossible question to answer…

…which is why researchers pooled data from long-term studies of close to half a million people (460,000+) to find out.

This type of research is called a meta-analysis, and it’s the most reliable way to answer tough questions that get different answers from different individual studies.

They found that happiness & life satisfaction:

↘️ Declined from ages 9-16 (it’s tough being a teen!)
↗️ Then increased until age 70 (that’s encouraging!)
↘️ Declined again after that (possibly related to overall health)

Happiness is a vague concept that can seem elusive, but the good news is that you don’t have to follow trends!

Happiness is related to so many other aspects of health that everything you do to feel better could also have a side effect of happiness.

Like…

Eating vegetables.

Going for walks.

Drinking water.

Journaling.

Meditating.

And doing things you love.

What are you doing today for your happiness?

Healthy Valentine Treats

Fun Inspo for Valentine Treats ❤️

We all go for chocolate, but what if we could make those treats a little more healthy?

🍓 Strawberry Skewers
Cut off the strawberry tops in a V-shape so the strawberries look like hearts. Alternate them with other berries or grapes on skewers.

🥣 Dark Chocolate Chia Pudding
Mix up ¼ cup each of chia seeds and cocoa powder along with 1 cup of coconut milk and some vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and sweetener to taste. Top with fresh raspberries!

🧀 Valentine Snack Board
Put together a snack board with all things red and white! Like grape tomatoes, strawberries, pomegranate hearts, and raspberries, alongside crackers, cheeses, or pretzels.

🍫Dark Chocolate Hummus
Find this one at your favorite natural grocers or search up an easy recipe online to make this delicious and nutritious dip!

Surprising Things that Spike Cortisol 👉

Have you ever thought about what’s actually creating stress in your body?

Because it might not be what you think.

YES, there are the usual suspects:

❗ Running late for work
❗ Toddlers throwing tantrums in public
❗ Getting stuck in a traffic jam
❗ The list of to-do’s that never seems to get done

But here are some others:

❗ Undereating
❗ Over-exercising
❗ Staying up late
❗ Scrolling screens before bed
❗ Chugging coffee instead of food

Any of these things trigger the cascade of stress hormones. That means any of them (if repeated over time) can disrupt cortisol and contribute to chronic health issues.

I’m ready to flip the narrative on this.

Instead of normalizing habits and lifestyles that stress the body, don’t you think it’s time we start normalizing habits and lifestyles that put the body in a state of feeling safe and calm?

I’ll share some of my ideas on how to do that in upcoming posts.

Let me know in the comments—what did I miss in this list ☝️ of stressors?

Why Cortisol is the Problem

Stress is no joke.

That’s because the stress hormone *cortisol* has a ripple effect on just about every aspect of physical and mental health, like…

🔥 Immune Function
Cortisol keeps inflammation in check, but too much can lower the body’s ability to fight off infections and illness.

🍪 Blood Sugar
Cortisol increases blood sugar (to help us respond to stress), but this can lead to insulin resistance and blood sugar issues over time.

👖 Belly Fat
Chronically elevated cortisol leads to weight gain—particularly around the middle.

💩 Bloating & Digestion
The gut is our second brain and responds to stress hormones too!

❣️ Emotional Health
Cortisol can contribute to anxiety, restlessness, apathy, and other mood changes.

So, what can we do?

This is one of the most significant root causes of health issues in so many of my clients. What we do is look at what is actually happening with cortisol and come up with a plan to bring it back to a healthy and natural rhythm.

Watch for my next post. I’ll be sharing some surprising things that spike cortisol levels.
