We are pleased to welcome Dr. Madilyn Tomaso to Elberta Family Practice. A native of Barnwell, AL, Dr. Tomaso’s roots run deep in our community. Growing up working in her family’s restaurant and on their small farm, Dr. Tomaso developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for rural life.
Dr. Tomaso earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!), and then joined the Rural Medical Scholars Program, where she earned a master’s in rural medicine. She continued her education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she completed her medical training and residency in Huntsville, AL. During her training she was awarded outstanding senior resident in pediatrics as well as internal medicine. She was also an Albert Schweitzer Fellow and created a program focused on nutritional education to underserved rural and urban communities while in medical school.
With a passion for providing high-quality care in rural areas, Dr. Tomaso is excited to serve her hometown and surrounding communities. She enjoys spending time with her family and is always working to improve her gardening skills in her spare time.
