March is National Caffeine Awareness Month and with most things in life, it can be good if used in moderation. In this post, we explore the effects of caffeine, its benefits, and how to enjoy it responsibly. While moderate consumption is generally safe, excessive intake can lead to jitters or restlessness, insomnia, rapid heart rate, dehydration, and abnormal heart rate, or dependency. Each individual reacts differently to caffeine, so it may have a stronger effect on your system than others.

February is Black History Month! We want to honor Black athletes who are competing at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina. There are a record-breaking number of Black athletes across multiple nations. Key competitors include Kaysha Love and Army Spc. Azaria Hill (two-woman Bobsled team), Elana Meyers Taylor (Bobsled), Erin Jackson (speed skating), Bryan Sosoo (four-man bobsled), Laila Edwards (first Black woman to play for U.S. women's Olympic hockey team), and Darryl Payne Jr (first African American man in Olympic skeleton). These athletes are breaking barriers in sports, contributing to the 2026 Black History Month celebration of excellence, resilience, and expanding representation.

Figure skater Alysa Liu stated “I love struggling, actually,” noting her mindset toward overcoming challenges in training and competition. Look for her and the rest of the USA Olympic team this February to cheer them on!

Please help is welcome our newest provider, Max Herwig!👋🩺 Max earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing and is excited to join our family medicine team. He loves caring for and interacting with patients, building meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life. 🥼

Outside of the office, Max enjoys spending time with family, cheering on the Ravens and Orioles, and staying active with sports like golf and pickleball. 💜🧡🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒⛳️
