December has a way of filling every corner of our calendars: gatherings, shopping lists, school events, travel, and all the little moments in between.
But your mind and body still deserve gentleness. You are allowed to pause, breathe, and create tiny pockets of peace throughout your day.
Here are a few simple ways to give yourself that space:
🌿 1. Slow your breathing
Even one minute of intentional breathing can quiet your nervous system and bring you back into your body. Inhale for four, exhale for six — feel the tension melt.
🌿 2. Move or stretch for 3 minutes
Tight shoulders, a stiff lower back, or tension headaches often sneak up during December. A small stretch break can reset your posture and your mood.
🌿 3. Sip something warm
Herbal tea, warm lemon water, or even a quiet cup of coffee can become a grounding ritual. Let it remind you to slow down and savor stillness.
🌿 4. Protect quiet moments
Give yourself permission to say “not right now.” A moment in the car, a walk in the cold air, or sitting in silence for two minutes can calm the swirl of the season.
🌿 5. Release expectations
You don’t have to do everything perfectly to be present. Let go of the pressures that don’t bring peace. Choose the moments that matter most.
