I may be the administrator, but when there are call-ins and no one to pass meds, I step right in. I might be the “B team” on the cart, a little slower, and not always in the usual routine—but the last two days reminded me exactly why I’m here.

Getting back on the cart, spending that one-on-one time, truly interacting with our residents… it fills your cup in a way nothing else can. Yes, the days were long—but they were incredibly rewarding.

Hearing “thank you,” or “you’re late, but I know you’re not used to this—I forgive you,” followed by “is there anything here you don’t do?”—that’s what it’s all about.

When it comes to my residents… there isn’t anything I won’t do to make sure you’re taken care of.

And with that being said—I appreciate each and every one of my staff for all you do, day in and day out, to care for our residents. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

Confession time…
I cannot stand clutter. If it sits too long, my brain says: “Yep… toss it.” My anxiety doesn’t even give it a second chance 😅
Then Sarah walks into my office:
“Hey Kaslyn… remember that lamp you told me to throw away?” 🤦‍♀️
Oh no…
“I’m turning it into Mother’s Day centerpieces.”
Dang it, Kaslyn… why you gotta be like this?! 😂
Meanwhile, here at Rock Island Village, Sarah’s out here turning my “trash” into something beautiful for our residents. And honestly… that’s what makes this place so special—the creativity, the heart, and the little moments that mean everything 💐
Sarah, you amaze me. And our residents are the lucky ones because of it ❤️
We’d love for our families to come see it all come together!

😂 Still arguing with the lawn mower? Avoiding the laundry pile? Pretending the dishes will wash themselves? 😂
Yeah… we get it.
At Rock Island Village, you can officially retire from chores for good. No mowing, no cooking, no cleaning—just good food, great company, and a whole lot more time to enjoy life.
We have a few assisted living apartments available, but they won’t last long!
Go ahead… break up with your chores. We’ll take it from here. 😉

Today was our Easter egg hunt, and what a wonderful turnout we had 🐣🌷
We loved seeing so many kids join in on the fun, and our residents truly enjoyed every moment watching their excitement. The laughter, smiles, and joy shared between generations made it such a special afternoon.
