We enjoyed seeing lots of familiar faces while marching in the Hardin County Fair parade in Eldora this evening with Pikachu and Charmander. Maybe you even got to catch a little wave from Zoey-she’s been practicing this past month or so to prepare for her first parade. “Gotta adjust ‘em all!”

BLW update: Now that we are about 3 weeks into introducing solids for the third time and know many of you are in or are approaching this season, we wanted to update how it’s going.

We pass on the commonly recommended rice cereal and offer our babies more nutrient dense options from the start, which we deem at or after 6 months. So far our daughter has been offered cucumbers, watermelon, avocado, eggs, chicken, peppers, green beans, peaches, apples, cantaloupe, sweet corn, and celery. She continues to nurse about the same frequency/amount, and we try to sit her down for a meal after nursing so she isn’t too anxious going into it. We don’t cook her special meals, but try to keep in mind that if we don’t have anything we are comfortable giving her, it may not be the best meal idea for us, either. 😉 She doesn’t eat every meal with us, but we aim to include her as often as we have enough time to allow her to sit and safely enjoy her meal. For now, food is still “for fun”, not her main means of intake and something she is learning to do as a skill and to enjoy. Our goal is to expose her to a wide variety of healthy, real foods early on and to form a healthy relationship with food and eating from a young age.

Today was Alicia’s last day at EFC. We have so appreciated and enjoyed having her in the office for the past 4 years both as an important member of our team and all around great person-we know our patients have, too. She will still be in the community so it’s not goodbye, just “see ya around!”. We will miss her and wish her all the best in her next endeavor. ❤️

This is a favorite frozen treat that our family enjoys to help cool off on these hot summer days. ☀️

Tip: Other types of frozen fruit taste delicious dipped in any extra chocolate you may have left over-we personally like strawberries and blueberries as well. Enjoy!

Our youngest recently turned 6 months old. 🎉 One milestone we begin at this age is the introduction of solid foods into the diet. We like and utilize in our household the Baby Led Weaning method. For more information on BLW, check out the informative book or our recent blog post that highlights this method.

*UPDATE-We have very efficient crews out there! Our power is back on and we anticipate being fully functional the rest of the day.

——————-

We hope you are all safe from this morning’s storm! Big thanks to those first responders working hard to keep our community safe and getting us all back up and running.

Our power is out along with the rest of town. We will be reaching out to those who have appointments this morning as we get a better idea of when we will be fully functional and do hope to still open for those able to come in today.

From Our Family to Yours

Our mission is to create a stronger community by nurturing and empowering families and individuals to take charge of their health so that they may live their best lives. We strive to care for those who come into our office as we’d care for our own family.

Hi! We are two chiropractors passionate about bettering the health of our community and its future. We met at chiropractic school and chose Eldora to settle in and raise our family, while carrying on the rich chiropractic tradition before us. We understand the challenges that are faced by individuals today, particularly those living in rural areas, as we both hail from small Midwestern towns. We strive to keep informed on the latest knowledge that will allow us to better serve you and your family and always aim to be patient-centered in our care, serving you with integrity and honesty. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know you and your family!
