Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center We provide short and long-term skilled nursing care that helps older adults achieve true wellness. We are a non-profit, and that’s an important difference.

Our focus is on strengthening the families and communities we care for. Post-operative care, Wound Care, IV Therapy, and an in-house rehabilitation team are some services that make our facility different. Unlike others who contract their therapists, we have an in-house therapy team. This means our goal is to have patients and residents see the same occupational, speech, or physical therapists daily, which builds a strong line of trust and rapport.

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! This month, we want to raise awareness about the importance of communication, hearing, and swallowing health, and the professionals who help along the way.

🔍 Did you know? Hearing loss can stem from outer, middle, or inner ear issues. Recognizing the signs early and understanding the risk factors is the first step toward better hearing health.

🥄 Swallowing disorders can result in significant health issues and may even cause social isolation. Speech-language pathologists are essential in assisting patients and residents to enjoy their meals safely while maintaining their social connections.
