We would like to introduce one of our new providers, Leslie!

Meet Leslie Acosta, LSW, CADC

Leslie is a licensed social worker and certified drug and alcohol counselor who works with children, teenagers, adolescents, and adults of all ages. As a first-generation Mexican American, she incorporates culture into her treatment approaches. Leslie has worked in community mental health for almost 10 years, working with the LGBTQIA+ community, homeless services, and outpatient substance use.

Her goal is to build trust with her clients, making sure that they feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Today we acknowledge World Mental Health Day! It was founded by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992. Every year there is a theme to draw special attention to. This year’s theme is ‘It is Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace.’ This is such an important theme because we spend most of our time at work or school. Sometimes it may be hard to maintain a healthy work/life balance. This makes us more prone to depression, anxiety, and burn out. That’s why it is important to prioritize yourself and dedicate time for self-care. At Valley Counseling, we want to remind you to take care of yourself and check in on your friends and family.
