She was a founding member of Chicago's Gay Liberation Front as well as the Association for Women in Psychology. Throughout her career, she strived to provide therapy and resources to the underrepresented and marginalized communities including the LGBTQIA+ community. She was a strong advocate for the rights and needs of women of color.

We honor her influential efforts and what she has done for marginalized communities everywhere.

In honor of Black History Month, we want to highlight some of the most influential people who paved the way for progress and advocacy in mental health.

Today, we honor Bebe Moore Campbell. Through her best-selling published books, Bebe shared her own personal experience and the experience of many others facing discrimination and societal stigmas in America. Due to this, people of color have historically had less access to care, support, and resources within the community. Her life work became to advocate for increased support for mental health in the underserved and underrepresented communities. She was a cofounder of NAMI Inglewood, in a predominantly Black community and through her writings and teachings, she launched many important conversations about mental health. We are grateful for her efforts that paved the way for an increase in support and resources for all.

Our own Dr. Malik was able to attend the very informative and educational annual conference held by the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists, & Practitioners this past weekend in Austin, Texas! We are grateful to have the opportunity to learn about the latest research and resources in this growing field in order to provide the best care for our patients.
Dr. Malik also had the chance to connect with other providers in the field and was especially thankful to be able to connect with the president of ASKP3 and one of the board members, .
