Feedback I often heard working as a CMA:
A patient leaves their doctor’s office with a new diagnosis…
and a lot of unanswered questions.

Not because the doctor doesn’t care.
Not because the patient didn’t ask.

But because appointments are short, information is complex, and processing a diagnosis can be overwhelming.

Many patients walk out wondering:

• What does this actually mean for my day-to-day life?
• What changes should I start making?
• What questions should I ask at my next appointment?
• How do I put all of this together?

This is where health coaching can make a difference.

As an integrative health coach, a big part of my role is patient advocacy and support.

The next distribution of our Richland/Lexington Fresh Food Box is Wednesday, February 25. Order your box no later than Thursday, February 19. Our Culinary Medicine Team is at it again! We'll have another tasty treat for you using items from this week's box! This spicy cantaloupe salsa goes great with chips, tacos, chicken, and more! Ask for a sample at Wednesday's Fresh Food Box Distribution at our Richland County Hub.

Ingredients:
1 cup cantaloupe, chopped
1 tomato, chopped
1 red or green bell pepper, chopped
½ red onion, chopped
2-3 jalapeno peppers (½ cup), chopped
1 Tablespoon lime or lemon juice
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ cup chopped cilantro, optional

Instructions:
1. Remove seeds and rind from cantaloupe.
2. Remove seeds from jalapeno peppers.
3. Chop cantaloupe, tomato, bell pepper, onion, jalapeno peppers, and cilantro into small pieces.
4. Add chopped ingredients into a large bowl.
5. Add lime or lemon juice, salt and pepper and stir to mix.
6. Chill and serve fresh!
