When I first heard the word hydrocephalus at my baby’s 6-month checkup, my heart dropped. As a Black mom of a micro preemie, 1lb 9 oz I was scared asf, overwhelmed, and unsure what the future would hold.

Fast forward my daughter Ronise is now 10 years old and thriving . She’s proof that our babies are more than their diagnosis.

To every parent sitting in hospital rooms, praying over your child like I did her, or feeling like nobody understands you are not alone. Our community doesn’t talk about hydrocephalus enough, but our children deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Ronise is my reminder that faith, love, and resilience can move mountains.
