Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day🌈🫶🏼

Being veterinary professionals is somedays really wonderful, and other days really hard. Honestly, some days it really is terrible.

Recently in the last year our staff has lost quite a few of our most special friends.
This week we said goodbye to one of our “Golden Girls” Nikita McNitt (right) after saying a sad goodbye to her sister Odie (left) earlier in the year. Their family also recently said goodbye to Buddy (another loyal and incredible friend).

These two are not just special to current staff, but previous, as well as the hundreds of clients who met their family during many visits with us.

The loss of all of our patients weighs on the hearts our team, but Odie and Nikki left an everlasting impression on us all and their legacy has taught so many living on in the care and compassion we provide each day. Every single one of our team members have learned something from Odie and Nikki-quite honestly, no technician or assistant ever learned how to do laser treatments on anyone else. Odie and Nikki have been some of the kindest and sweetest teachers.

Thank you to the McNitts for sharing your heart with us. We can’t say thank you enough for the memories, love and friendship over the years. Staff birthday cakes and cards, those pizzas during covid lockdown too🫶🏼

Their paw prints have been added to our small (and sadly growing) staff collection, including: Cabot Horning, Ariel Winnerling, Stiggy Price, Hunter Strube, Forest Kern, Rootie Bomboy, and Ham Meier.

Please share pictures of those waiting for you on the rainbow bridge🫶🏼 chances are we miss them too😭

Our Representative from Merck (the company who makes Bravecto) told us today that Bravecto Quantum should be ready to be administered at the beginning of August. We can NOT wait to offer this to our clients along side Proheart 12.
Who doesn’t like the convenience of injections for preventatives vs using them monthly!

Today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Bravecto Quantum (fluralaner for extended-release injectable suspension), for use in dogs and puppies 6 months of age and older.

Dr Distler is taking a well deserved vacation (she’s not gone on one in 7 years) during the week of the 4th of July!

There will be someone in the building 2-3 times a day checking voicemails/the email. Refilling meds and coordinating pick-ups/drop-offs and caring for boarding animals. There is still kennel availability for vaccinated pets and those requiring medications administered.

Non-urgent appointments will be scheduled for 7/1 and on/after 7/7.

Emergencies should refer to other local emergency service providers.

Our kennel is open for the summer! If you have a last minute trip coming up or daycare needs, our kennel has limited availability for vaccinated animals!

Our hospital cat slipped out the door this morning when someone was coming in! If you see/find Noodle, please let us know! She is microchipped and has a strange haircut! Not afraid of dogs/most animals and people!
