I touched on this a little last week, but the most important thing I want you to take away from this challenge is that your morning has to fit your life. There is no one-size-fits-all morning routine, BUT…

1. We know it’s important and not to be missed
2. There is going to be some level of prep involved BEFORE to set you up for success each morning 🙌

The prep for your Rise & Shine morning starts the night before. Even if it’s just 15 minutes, knowing that THIS time will help you be most intentional with your time the next day!

Feeling bloated, achy, or sluggish? Inflammation might be the culprit, and the best way to fight it is through food!

Processed foods, sugar, and unhealthy fats contribute to inflammation, while plant-based foods help calm it. Leafy greens, turmeric, berries, and walnuts are all loaded with anti-inflammatory properties to help you feel your best. The more plants you add, the better your body will function!

Know Your Nourishment
Try adding one anti-inflammatory food to your meals this week. Add a pint of raspberries to your grocery list, or add turmeric to your smoothie! How are you feeling after a few weeks of more mindful, nutritious meals?

Ready to get your shop on again? Meal planning should be something you look forward to after this month! It’s simple to do once you build a routine. Here are some things to do today to get ready to bring home your haul.

1. Create donate and trash piles for your kitchen clean out - high fat, high sodium, or foods that you lose control eating, you don’t need. Look for foods that are expired (trash!) and make space for all the delicious foods to come.

2. Refrigerator redo - Wipe out your fridge shelves and drawers. Reorganize what you’re keeping into categories/areas so putting away your grocery haul takes no time at all.

3. Reusable grocery bags - I love using the same reusable bags when I shop! I store them in the bottom of my pantry, flat, so I can grab and go every time I shop. Easy!

If you spend most of your day indoors (like many of us!), you might not be getting enough vitamin D, which is essential for immunity, mood, and bone health.

Vitamin D is called the “sunshine vitamin” because our bodies produce it when exposed to sunlight. But with modern lifestyles, many people are deficient! A high-quality vitamin D3 supplement can help boost energy, support immune function, and improve mood…especially during colder months!

Know Your Nourishment
How much sunlight do you get each day? If it’s not much, consider getting your vitamin D levels checked and adding a supplement if needed! Drop a ☀️ in the comments if you’re making this a priority!

Just like morning sunlight helps wake you up, evening fresh air helps you wind down and improve sleep. We hear a lot of tips telling us to go outside first thing in the morning. But what about an evening moment outside?

Spending time outside in the evening - whether it’s a short walk, sitting on the porch, or stretching in the backyard - helps signal to your body that it’s time to relax. Plus, it’s a great way to reflect on your day and unplug from screens before bed.

Know Your Nourishment
Try stepping outside tonight for just 5 minutes before bed. Breathe deeply, take in the sounds around you, and let your body relax. Let me know if it helps you sleep better! 🌿😴

If you feel thirsty throughout the day, your body is probably already dehydrated! Our bodies are made up of over 75% water that constantly needs to be replenished as we think, work, and move, and often, we don’t do that enough. Common side effects of dehydration are headaches and brain fog, which can totally kill a productive day!

This week’s drink sounds like the tropical vacation we all need, PLUS it has amazing hydration benefits and flavor! Pineapple and mango are two more amazing sources of Vitamin C and are packed with nutrients, vitamins, enzymes, and antioxidants! Grab your muddler and SQUEEZE all you can out of this refreshing recipe!

Ingredients:
1 cup ice
¼ cup diced pineapple
¼ cup diced fresh mango
3 slices fresh lime
1¼ cups cold water

🥬 Spinach, kale, arugula… leafy greens are nature’s multivitamin! They’re packed with magnesium (hello, muscle relaxation), vitamin K (bone health superstar), and fiber to keep digestion running smoothly.

If there’s one thing we could all eat more of, it’s greens. They alkalize the body, support hormone balance, and even help reduce sugar cravings. But let’s be real, eating them doesn’t have to mean boring salads! Try blending them into soups, sauces, or even brownies (yes, really!)

If you’re someone who typically skips breakfast each morning, I want you to know that today’s check-in is very much for you. Today, I want to help you find a recipe that works because having breakfast is so important for a healthy, well-rounded day.

According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition, approximately 20-30% of adults in the United States regularly skip breakfast. 🤯 Those who skipped breakfast were found to have increased struggles with memory, attention, and problem-solving skills throughout the day. Skipping that first meal can also slow down your metabolism, which has an effect on your weight management and energy level throughout the day.

I am SO happy with how this month has gone and feel empowered by my meal plan, y’all! Simple, clean, prepped recipes I can always rely on to meet my eating plan + goals - yes, please! 🤤

This week’s recipe is Honey Garlic Tofu. Tofu, like chicken, marinates and takes on the flavor of whatever sauce or broth it is with. And this honey garlic sauce is just… beyond!

Ingredients
1 block firm tofu of your choice
3 tablespoons minced garlic
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari
2 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
1/2 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)

Instructions (to freeze)
1. Label your freezer bag with “Honey Garlic”, serves 6, and today’s prep date.
2. Whisk together minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, and red chili garlic sauce until the honey has fully dissolved.
3. Place /tofu onto the bottom of your freezer bag. Then, pour the sauce over your protein.
4. Remove as much air as possible, and massage to mix and seal.

Instructions (to cook)
1. Pour thawed honey garlic meal into a slow cooker. Turn your slow cooker to high and cook for 2-3 hours OR low and cook for 4-5 hours.
2. Remove tofu from the slow cooker.
3. If you wish to thicken the sauce, remove 1/4 cup of the liquid from the slow cooker and whisk in 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch until it dissolves. pour that back into the slow cooker and mix until combined. Add the tofu back into the crockpot and mix it with the sauce.
4. Cover and let cook for 10 more minutes on high so that the sauce can fully thicken. Enjoy!

Servings 3-4

If your healthy eating objection has been “It’s too expensive”, this is the day for you! Creating a plan, building a shopping list, and STICKING TO IT will save you money, I promise. But here are some other tips I stick to to make sure my bank, budget, and shopping cart stay on track. 👍 Here we go!

1. Eat before you go shopping. Shopping hungry will trigger cravings galore - just don’t do it. Even a snack and some water before you head in will help you stick to your list.

2. Find a store or market whose prices match your budget and GO THERE. Dropping into different stores week by week will keep your budget guessing. Sign up for emails from that store so you can see what they have on sale each week to inspire your shopping list!

3. Shop the perimeter of the store. You’ll find at the end of this week that a lot of the ingredients on your shopping list are fresh and maybe frozen - aka the perimeter of a store! Produce, protein, dairy, etc., first, then go directly to the aisle you need for any pantry items. There should only be a few if you’re sticking to your list
