God surely blessed Clarity this past Christmas season! So many groups collected and shared items for our clients! The kindergarten and 1st grade students at St James’ School had Laurie, our Director of Family Support, come to speak about how Clarity helps moms and dads. They brought new and gently used sleepwear for our clients’ babies and made crafts for our clients.
Central Kentucky Roads and Machines, along with Baptist Health Hardin’s Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab collected baby items and diapers for us!
Plus, Once Upon A Child stores, owned by Rod and Crystal Garrison, had their employees donate $$ and canned goods and they brought 4 boxes of diapers.
Berean Baptist Church celebrated the advent/Christmas season by hanging ornaments with needed items on their Christmas tree for church members to purchase for our clients.
A great big thank you to all of these groups and to you, our faithful supporters!

Merry Christmas Eve! Today is the last staff feature for our Staff Christmas Countdown. To finish it off, we are featuring Jack Daniel Taylor (no, sorry, it's not Santa). Jack is our Director of Men's Programs and has been with Clarity for ten years this fall. His favorite thing about Christmas is finding the perfect present, and this year he is most looking forward to watching his family open gifts. (He may not be Santa, but are you picking up on a theme?)

It's almost Christmas, and our Staff Christmas Countdown is almost over. For day 13, we are featuring Linsey Sodam! Linsey is our Client Care Manager and has been with Clarity for nine months. When it comes to Christmas this year, she is most looking forward to spending time with her brother and his family in Omaha.

For our 12th day of the Staff Christmas Countdown, we are featuring Jackie Douglas! Jackie Douglas is one of our Staff Nurses at the Medical Clinic and has been at Clarity since 2017. Jackie's favorite thing about Christmas is celebrating the best gift of our Lord and Savior and spending time with those she loves. She loves getting to see their sweet traditions carried on with their grandchildren. As she puts it, "there is joy in helping make a Christmas special for others."

It's another Staff Christmas Countdown highlight! For day 11, we are featuring Laurie Souleyrette, our Director of Family Support.

Laurie has been a Clarity supporter since the first Clarity Banquet, started volunteering in 2012, and has been a staff member since 2015.
When it comes to Christmas, Laurie loves the lights and sounds of Christmas and celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This Christmas, Laurie is most looking forward to celebrating with her family. As she says, "as the years go by, the times together get sweeter!"

It's day ten of our Staff Christmas Countdown, and today's staff feature is Patria Lopez De Martin! Patria is our Director of Medical Services and has been working at Clarity for five and a half years!

When it comes to Christmas, Patria loves it all, from watching her kids rip open the wrapping on their gifts to the old-time Christmas music of Nat King Cole and Dean Martin to homemade gifts and cozy evenings by the fire. Driving around looking at Christmas lights and listening to Christmas music is a must, and she's been known to start blasting the Christmas music starting Nov. 1 ;) But, her favorite thing about Christmas is that people seem to be a little bit nicer. As she says, "the atmosphere just feels different."

Movie: Die Hard (As Patria says, "I know, I know most probably don't consider that a Christmas movie, but I do"), followed by White Christmas as a close second.
Carol: O Holy Night
Treat: Doesn't really have a favorite treat, but give her some hot chocolate, cozy socks, and a book or crochet project, and her night is made!

We're back with another Staff Christmas Countdown highlight! For day eight, we are featuring Katrina Goddard, our Communications Coordinator. Katrina just started in the role but has loved Clarity and been involved in small ways since she was young.

Katrina's favorite thing about Christmas is all the yearly traditions that pop up everywhere, the trees in people's windows, Christmas music playing, community events, etc. As she says, "I love that, in an increasingly secular society, once a year there are suddenly all these signs of Jesus and what he's done for us that show up and are embraced." This year, she is most looking forward to opening presents with her year-and-a-half-old boy and eating tacos with her family on Christmas Eve. (It's their tradition!)

Only one week until Christmas! For today's feature, say hi to Emily Curtsinger, our Family Support Center Receptionist. Emily has been working at Clarity since 2022. She started as an Assistant House Staff at the Haven and then moved to her current position in 2023.

This Christmas, Emily is looking forward to making memories with her sweet kiddo! It's his first year decorating the tree, eating cookies, watching the Grinch, all the little things that he'll look back on fondly as he gets older. Her favorite thing about Christmas is time with her little family and really meditating on the season of Advent and what Jesus has done for us. As she says, Jesus "exchanging his exalted position to become a vulnerable baby has hit a lot closer to home now that I'm a mom."

Monica is one of our Staff Nurses at the Medical Clinic and has been working at Clarity going on two years this spring. This Christmas, she is most looking forward to Advent activities and her family's annual reindeer games!
