This week, we proudly celebrated National Nursing Home Week at Helmwood Healthcare — where this year’s theme, “Moments in Bloom,” perfectly reflects the heart of what we do every day. 🌸

The small moments are often the ones that bloom into lasting memories for our residents, families, and staff.

Throughout the week, we recognized the incredible people who make our community special — the caregivers, nurses, therapists, support staff, residents, and families who help The Village continue to grow with kindness, strength, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these moments blossom each and every day. Happy National Nursing Home Week! 🌼

During Nurse Appreciation Week, we want to recognize and thank all nurses everywhere for the care, compassion, and sacrifices they make every day. Nursing is not an easy job, and the impact nurses have on the lives of others is something that can never truly be measured.

Here at Helmwood Healthcare, we are especially thankful for our own nursing team. They are there for the hard days, the long nights, the call lights, the emergencies, the hugs, the laughter, and everything in between. They take care of our residents like family and continue showing up with compassion even when the days are exhausting.

A lot of what nurses do never gets seen publicly, but we see it here every day. The patience, teamwork, kindness, and heart they bring to this building means more than words can say.

Thank you to all nurses, and especially our Helmwood nurses, for everything you do. ❤️

Blueberry Pie Day was a sweet success at Helmwood Healthcare. Residents enjoyed a relaxing, hands-on activity as EC3 students joined them for a fun afternoon of coloring blueberry-themed pictures. The room was filled with conversation, creativity, and a lot of smiles as generations came together over a simple but meaningful activity.

Thank you to the EC3 students for spending time with our residents and helping make the day extra special.

April is Occupational Therapy Month, and today we’re recognizing the impact our OT team has on the lives of our residents every single day.

Our Occupational Therapy staff plays a critical role in helping residents regain independence, rebuild strength, and return to the activities that matter most to them. From fine motor skills to daily living tasks, their work goes far beyond therapy sessions—it restores confidence, dignity, and quality of life.

Earth Day at The Village 🌎🌿

The teams from Helmwood Healthcare and Willow Creek Assisted Living came together to celebrate Earth Day in a meaningful way. Dressed in our Earth Day shirts, staff spent time outdoors collecting trash around our surrounding grounds and along the nearby Greenbelt trails.

It was a simple but impactful effort—taking pride in the place we call home while doing our part to keep our community clean and beautiful. Days like today reflect what The Village is all about: teamwork, purpose, and caring not just for our residents, but for the environment around us.

This week, we’re proud to celebrate Medical Records Week and recognize Maizie at Helmwood Healthcare.

Maizie does an outstanding job keeping our medical records accurate, organized, and up to date—work that is essential to the care we provide every day.

Beyond her role, Maizie also goes the extra mile by helping residents and families navigate the Medicaid process, making a complicated system much easier to understand.

We appreciate her dedication, attention to detail, and the support she gives to both our team and our residents.

Bobby plays a critical role in connecting families to care, building relationships in the community, and ensuring a strong first impression of Helmwood. His work directly impacts the growth and reputation of our facility.

Jenna is the organizational backbone of our daily operations. From managing details to supporting leadership and staff, she ensures everything stays on track and nothing falls through the cracks.

Yesterday we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Helmwood. The rain held off long enough for the residents, staff, and families to enjoy the special day.

Yesterday at Helmwood Healthcare, we brought a little extra joy to the week with an Easter egg hunt for our residents and staff.

As we reflect today on Good Friday, a day centered on faith, sacrifice, and hope, it felt especially meaningful to see our halls filled with laughter, teamwork, and shared moments of happiness.

Our residents and staff had a great time searching high and low, sharing smiles, and enjoying the spirit of Passover together.
