Yesterday we had our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Helmwood. The rain held off long enough for the residents, staff, and families to enjoy the special day.

Yesterday at Helmwood Healthcare, we brought a little extra joy to the week with an Easter egg hunt for our residents and staff.

As we reflect today on Good Friday, a day centered on faith, sacrifice, and hope, it felt especially meaningful to see our halls filled with laughter, teamwork, and shared moments of happiness.

Our residents and staff had a great time searching high and low, sharing smiles, and enjoying the spirit of Passover together.

👏 Happy Long-Term Care Administrators Week! 👏
March 10–14

This week we proudly recognize Melissa Smith, Administrator of Helmwood Healthcare, for the leadership and dedication she brings to our residents, families, and staff every single day.

Melissa stepped into the role of Administrator during one of the most challenging times healthcare has ever faced, the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through steady leadership, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to our residents and team, she helped guide Helmwood forward and led our facility to achieve a 5-Star rating, a reflection of the quality care our team provides.

Melissa is also known for going far beyond the job description. Whether it’s helping in the kitchen, dropping off a care package to a sick staff member, or even picking up multiple staff members during winter ice storms so they could safely make it to work, she consistently shows what true leadership and dedication look like.

Please join us in thanking Melissa for her hard work, resilience, and heart for long-term care. Helmwood is stronger because of her leadership, and we are grateful to have her guiding our team.

Belated Happy National Dietitian Day!

We may be a couple days late, but we still want to recognize and celebrate McKenzie Lawson, our wonderful Dietitian here at Helmwood Healthcare! 🥗

McKenzie plays a vital role in the health and wellbeing of our residents. From developing nutritious meal plans to ensuring each resident’s dietary needs are met, she works hard behind the scenes to help keep our residents healthy, comfortable, and well cared for. Her knowledge, dedication, and compassion make a difference every day.

Please join us in celebrating Jennifer Franklin, Helmwood’s Hero of the Month! Jennifer has been an incredible addition to our team, bringing compassion, dedication, and truly advocating for our residents and families in her role as our Social Services Director.

It’s especially fitting that Jennifer is being recognized during Social Services Month, a time dedicated to honoring the vital role social workers play in healthcare. To make this celebration even sweeter, it’s also Jennifer’s birthday month! 🎂

We’ve had several employees staying over to ensure our residents continue to have the best care. We have employees volunteering to shovel our walkways, help in the kitchen, mopping floors, working overtime to cover shifts- whatever it takes. Thankful, grateful, blessed. ❤️
