Hi lovelies! I'm reposting an old post as a reminder about a skill I offer. I had a client today who had lymphedema in her right arm after breast cancer treatment. She remained under the care of a specialist until it was more of a mild case. That's when she needed management, and that's where I come in. In my MLD training, I can help to reduce swelling in cases of mild lymphedema/edema. Let me know if I can be of service!
I offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy. I'm certified in the Vodder method, which is a gentle, specialized technique that uses light, rhythmic, and stretching motions to stimulate the lymphatic system. Developed in the 1930s, this method is used to enhance fluid movement, reduce swelling (edema), promote relaxation, and support detoxification, with a primary focus on moving lymphatic fluid in the direction of the body's natural flow.
❣️ It's important to distinguish between MLD, regular massage, and what some are promoting as "lymphatic massage." This modality works to target the superficial lymph vessels instead of muscles, so the work is extremely light and precise. This is NOT body contouring!
❣️ Who benefits? Anyone with swelling from injury, surgery, edema, lymphedema, lipedema, sinus congestion, etc. It can bring relief to those suffering with autoimmune conditions, menstrual discomfort, arthritis, digestive disorders, tick-borne illnesses, or if you're just feeling bloated or sluggish and need a reset!
❣️ I had a client the other day with fibromyalgia who cannot tolerate regular massage as she experiences it as too painful, but she said she greatly benefited from our MLD session!
❣️ Not everyone is a good candidate for MLD. For instance, serious lymphedema cases should be receiving treatment from a specialist, but once under control, MLD can be a good management option!
❣️I offer MLD as a stand alone treatment or I can incorporate it into a regular therapeutic massage! Message, call, or text me to see if this treatment can help you! 502-275-1219
