Sometimes we are overly blessed (is there such a thing?) by those who donate items. We are at the point that we have to move out some of our larger items to make room for more treasure or to give us some space to paint, stain, and upcycle items for October and November.

This farmhouse cabinet is nice enough for immediate use or for upcycling to your own styling. Very solid with dovetail joinery.

Wood shelving in upper display cabinet is slightly warped (most wouldn't notice, still usable, and easily replaced). Some wear showing in places (see photos) but that's what gives farmhouse style its character.

We are open until 1 PM today. While we will next be open the first weekend in October, there are other opportunities to shop.

If you have group of 4 or more, you can make arrangements to come shop at a mutually-agreed upon time. We might even provide light refreshments and a tour of our clinic.

Perfect for a church small group activity.

This just in to the shop, in time for our weekend opening.

A full-size, student starter violin, donated by shop co-curator Audrie's sister, Dori, who is a violin instructor and professional musician. Violin, case, and bow --$90. And Dori will be on hand Friday and part of Saturday if you have questions or want a demo. 🎶

This hedgehog candle has to be one of the cutest things we have in The Trove right now. I'm sure he'll be gone in a flash! The question is, will he be yours?

You may have seen these porcelain figurines in our recent video. They are vintage Cordey porcelain from the late 1940s/early 50s. They are being sold as a pair, with optional sconces that don't necessarily need to be used with them. The sconces themselves are quite rare, especially as a set.

Cordey China Corp. was located in Philadelphia, then Trenton. Back in the day, these figurines were considered the penultimate in wedding gifts. Now, they'd make an elegant table top or wall display for an upscale corner.

These pieces feature an old world art of porcelain-covered lace, making each piece produced unique.

The Trove always has something for everyone, whether you collect vintage items, like mid-century art, seek to wow your guests with your hostessing prowess, or simply like to collect certain things.

We have beaucoup of salt and pepper shakers for collectors or those who just want to add a little whimsy to their table. Only $4. Which is your favorite? (And there are more).

Some of the lovely furniture and other items that came in recently and will be for sale this coming Friday and Saturday at The Trove. Isn't it nice that you can refresh your decor and feel GREAT about ?

We know it's difficult to make up your mind on furniture (measure, consult your significant other, decide on space, tranportation), so we can arrange to open for pickup later on in the week, if you can't get the logistics together immediately.

We hope you are having a beautiful and blessed day.

Sharing something very different we have in the shop-- a Victorian era newspaper (not sure if it's a reproduction) and genuine calling cards from the days we'd all be formally visiting others, dressed in our Sunday best. In fact, it was the ultimate in social networking and VERY different from how we think of social networks today.

If the residents of the home weren't there, cards would be collected by a butler or other staff and placed on a silver plate by an entryway for later review by the intended recipient.

Today, you'll have to settle for this electronic greeting from us, via social platforms. 😉 Maybe you should go have a spot of tea while you are reading this.

Another favorite in our shop for next weekend: a signed numbered print (251 of 650) by colored-pencil artist Sharon Morris Kincheloe.

Kincheloe is a native of the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia and her artwork reflects the beauty around her. Earlier in her career, such as in this piece, she focused on colored pencil art, becoming popular and appreciated by collectors and admirers of botanical art. More recently, she has concentrated on oil painting.

You'll find her classic botanical numbered prints in various places for sale from about $125 to $225, but as usual our pricing will make this affordable--$45.

Thrifting is a great way to fill your home with art. See you next weekend, September 5 and 6.
