If you or a loved one is interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccination, please see the information below from the Beckham County Health Department. If you have further questions, please feel free to give us a call.
Are you, like us, trying to figure out the ins and outs of the new scheduling portal? Please be patient as we proceed through the system together.
While there are still some unknowns, we do have some answers to your frequently asked questions. Please see below.
**COVID-19 Vaccine Scheduling Portal FAQs:
>Individuals can register at Vaccinate.Oklahoma.gov. They will receive access to the scheduling calendar once the group they identify with on the screening questions are eligible to receive the vaccine and appointments are available.
>If you received a message stating you are not eligible it may have been a system glitch. There is a backlog of registrations, but these are being addressed and notified via email if appropriate.
>Please check carefully that all fields requiring a "yes" or "no" response have been clicked appropriately as the default selection on all questions is set to "no." This may cause some who are 65 and older to receive the notice mentioned above about being ineligible if the "Are you 65 or older" question was left on the default answer of "no" despite entering a date of birth. This glitch is being addressed.
>If you need to make a correction, this can be made on-site when checking in. Otherwise, you may have to use a different email address to re-register and make the correction.
>Once registered, those eligible to receive the vaccine will receive an email with a link to the appointment calendar when slots are available. As your group becomes eligible, you will receive your email link. We are currently vaccinating health care workers, first responders, and those 65 and older.
>Appointment slots will be added on a weekly basis at this time based upon supply. There could be additional appointments added in as this changes. Those who have received the calendar link can continue to check back for openings.
>Those who have had COVID-19 can receive the vaccine so long as they are beyond the 10 days of isolation and are not exhibiting symptoms. Anyone who is a direct contact and exhibiting symptoms should also wait until this has passed. The health department is still offering curbside COVID-19 tests. If interested, please call to schedule.
>If you have questions or difficulties on the scheduling portal, please call 211. Staff answering phones at the county health department do not have access to edit appointments in the system.
>If an individual is not able to register themselves, a friend or loved one can do this for them knowing the email entered is where the calendar link will be sent once they are eligible to sign up and appointment slots are available.
>Please know, the 2nd dose calendars are not loaded into the online appointment scheduler at this time. You will be notified when this is available based upon the date of your 1st dose. The 2nd dose appointments for those who scheduled their 1st dose prior to the week of Jan. 11 will not use the new scheduler due to limitations within the system.
Thank you again for your patience in understanding this system, awaiting your time to receive the vaccine, and with calling our health department as staff are out assisting at vaccine clinics. We will continue to provide updates as we receive additional information.
