Congratulations to Mothers' Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes! They’re one of the Made in Illinois grant recipients using funding to strengthen Illinois manufacturing.

Made in Illinois is an innovative Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity program and Governor-led initiative focusing on innovation among small and mid-sized manufacturers across Illinois.

We asked Executive Director Summer Kelly what they used the grant funding for and the impact it has had on their organization.

"As the only milk bank in Illinois, we are thrilled to receive support from the Made in Illinois grant. With this grant we purchased an automated assembly line to fill, cap, and label bottles of donor milk. This machine makes Milk Bank WGL the first fully automated donor milk bottling line in the US."
