Meet Shirley & Leon Sobon: a couple who brings so much light to Bruceville Point. The article and video below capture just how brightly they shine. 🌞🍷

Every resident brings with them an incredible story. Spend a few minutes talking with someone you meet in the Bistro, and you’ll hear stories of resilience, grace, love, learning, and purpose. Stories are how we make sense of the world. And they are the foundation of our relationships.

We let the good times boil at Hook & Reel: Cajun Seafood Restaurant + Bar!!! 🦀

Cajun cuisine has roots as rich and flavorful as the dishes themselves!!! It all began with the Acadians, who brought their French cooking traditions to Louisiana in the 1700s. Over time, they blended those recipes with local ingredients and influences from nearby cultures, creating the bold & comforting flavors we love today. Known for hearty one-pot meals, a little kick of spice, and a whole lot of heart, Cajun food is all about creativity, community, and making something delicious out of ingredients. 🌶️🍲

ALSO!!! We had a resident’s family member visiting all the way from Australia, and since his birthday was the day before, he got to spin the wheel - winning $5 off!!!

Harbor had some fun in the sun at the Sacramento Zoo! It was such a beautiful day to get out and stretch our legs. We may need to schedule another trip as soon as possible!

As we say goodbye to Meg, our incredible Community Relations Director, we can’t help but reflect on the countless ways she has brought energy, creativity, and connection into our community. Meg was the driving force behind so many of the events and experiences that brought people together, often working behind the scenes to make sure every detail felt thoughtful and special. Whether she was coordinating large-scale gatherings or adding those extra touches that made an event unforgettable, she approached it all with passion and pride. And then there were the things only Meg could do… like somehow transforming our (huge) alcove space during the holiday season by decorating our practically two-story tall Christmas tree. Truly, she earned the unofficial title of Queen of the Christmas Tree, carefully placing every ornament with a level of dedication and skill that felt like its own kind of magic.

Her creativity didn’t stop there. Meg had a vision for making our events not just enjoyable, but memorable like bringing in fun and interactive elements such as the 360 Photo Booth for our staff Christmas party and the light box photo booth at our gala, giving everyone a chance to capture moments in such a unique way. But beyond all of that, what truly set Meg apart was the way she made people feel. She had an incredible gift for welcoming prospective residents and newcomers, instantly putting them at ease and making them feel like they belonged from the very first moment. She lit up every room she walked into, and that warmth and authenticity left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.

At her farewell celebration, it was clear just how much she will be missed through the laughter, the stories, and the heartfelt gratitude shared. Meg, thank you for the joy, dedication, and light you brought into this community. While we will miss you dearly, we are so excited to see where your next adventure takes you: you will always have a place here with us.

P.S. If you noticed the Chick-fil-A and the cheetah print, those were two of Meg’s favorite - so it only felt right to celebrate her in true Meg fashion!! 🐆✨

There’s something special about food bringing people together… and a hands-on charcuterie experience led by our Dining Experience Director, Danyale, who guided everyone through creating their own beautiful boards, was no exception!

Charcuterie, which originated in France, comes from the tradition of preparing and preserving meats like salami, pâté, and cured sausages. Over time, it has evolved into the artful boards we know and love today - full of both savory and sweet flavors, thoughtfully paired, and beautifully arranged.

From learning new techniques to crafting their own creations (including a stunning salami rose!), it was equal parts delicious and delightful!! 🧀
