We went wild — literally! Our residents had a blast on a private tour of the NorCal Wildlife & Aquarium, where they got up close with amazing animals and sea life. Having the whole place to ourselves made it even more special!

Norcal Aquarium & Wildlife Adventures 🦦

Residents enjoyed an exciting visit today to the Northern California Aquarium and Wildlife center, where they got to meet a variety of incredible creatures up close. From sleek fish and small sharks gliding gracefully through the water to a friendly bearded dragon named Peaches basking under her heat lamp, there was something for everyone to enjoy. We were especially fascinated by the chocolate chip starfish, known for the unique brown spots that give them their name, and delighted by a curious Patagonian Cavy hopping around nearby in its enclosure. A gentle tortoise and several other amazing animals rounded out the experience, making it a memorable morning of learning and discovery!!!

Nimbus Fish Hatchery: FREE TO THE PUBLIC!!
Residents had a fabulous time visiting and learning all about the life cycles of salmon, feeding the trout, and enjoying the views.

Each year, thousands of Chinook salmon begin a remarkable journey up the American River in California as part of their annual spawning migration. Born in freshwater, these salmon spend most of their lives in the Pacific Ocean before instinctively returning to the river of their birth. As they swim upstream, they navigate through strong currents and past natural and man-made obstacles in search of suitable spawning grounds. Their journey culminates at the Nimbus Fish Hatchery near Sacramento, where biologists help ensure the survival of the species by collecting eggs and milt to raise the next generation. This hatchery plays a crucial role in sustaining salmon populations amid environmental challenges and habitat loss!! 🐟

Congratulations to Bobbe for finishing her latest painting in Therapuetic Art with Matthew of Making Things Interesting!! As Bobbe and her husband Ron found, the paint dried in such a way that the rocks sometimes look like different animals… so far people have found breeds of dogs, a bird, and several bears. How many can you spot?
