There are some things we say to grieving hearts that we mean to be comforting⌠but they often land as heavy. đ¤
âJust be strong.â
âGod needed them more.â
âIt will get better, just give it time.â
Grief does not need fixing.
Grief doesnât need spiritual bypassing.
It does not need rushing.
And it certainly does not need strength demanded of it.
Grievers need space to feel what they feel.
Grievers need our compassion.
Grievers need our presence.
Grievers need our witness to their pain and our â withnessâ in it.
If you are grieving, please hear this ~
đThere is nothing wrong with you. If you are experiencing intense anxiety, overwhelm or depression~ that makes sense.
đYou arenât broken ( though you may feel broken đ) so you donât need fixed.
đThere is no checklist or timeline you are supposed to follow.
đYour body, heart, and spirit are doing exactly what they need to do.
And if you are walking alongside someone who is grieving, your quiet presence matters more than the right words ever could.
If you are carrying grief and would like a gentle, supportive place to be with your grief and process it, I would be honored to meet with you one on one. Along with being a specialist in Anxiety and Trauma Recovery, I am a Certified Grief Educator.
⨠Comment âGRIEFâ and Iâll reach out. I have so much compassion, resources and support for you. đâŁď¸
