Ever heard of the Platysma? It's a rather large muscle in your neck that helps out with facial expressions and can control forward head posture. For those of you working at a desk, this muscle tends to bring your head down and forward, causing pain in the backside of the neck and shoulders.
A great way to stretch this muscle is by isolating it and pulling in the opposite direction!
Place two fingers on each side of the Clavicle, then raise your chin toward the ceiling for a great stretch. While stretched, rock your head side to side to stretch the sides of your neck as well.
As always call with any questions and to book your appointment!
