Harnessing the Magic to Change Lives since 1979
Project R.I.D.E. provides safe, structured horseback riding instruction for people with disabilities. We emphasize personal achievement in a non-competitive setting where students of all abilities can succeed. Riders are challenged to overcome their physical and mental limitations and build confidence, strength and skill, with the help of our professional staff, teams of trained volunteers and carefully screened equine assistants.
We serve over 500 individuals aged 3 to 98 with dozens of different diagnoses, with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome being most common. Our program relies heavily upon community financial support, donated materials and volunteer labor to operate.
Get involved! We need volunteers all year-round, ages 14 and up for direct program help, maintenance and horse care. Join us at one of our exciting fundraiser events. Or drop by with a donation in any amount, or something from our wish list. Visit projectride.org for more details.
