Stop, and read that again.
Though it might be hard to read or realize it, we create the reality we live in—with our thoughts, ideals, beliefs, values, and past conditioning.
Believe it or not, we have the power to change, to create a world within that doesn’t include stress or anxiety.
It’s not the thing that creates stress, it’s how we PERCEIVE the thing. It took me awhile to understand and appreciate this statement. It’s a daily occurrence if I’m being honest.
The tools that I’ve collected over the years like meditation, gratitude, being in nature, Breathwork, using the acronym STOP, and the phrase one day at a time, have all helped me come to grasp with this statement.
Today’s Tuesday Tip: In any situation where you feel hot or cold, anxious, sweaty, your heart starts to beat faster, you’re fuse gets shorter, use the STOP acronym - meaning, STOP, literally, TAKE 3 slow inhales/exhales through the nose which helps calm the nervous system, OBSERVE where your mind and body are in this moment, and then PROCEED with ease and grace with whatever you’re doing or confronted with.
These few tips help bring your awareness back to the present moment and put space in between you & the THING and instead of being autopilot and responding like you would in the past, you’re coming from a centered place, less triggered by the THING.
