I’ve had a lot of people ask me recently, “What can I do to help change things? I feel so powerless.”

Let me tell you something….

You are NOT powerless.

Here are a few things that Googles AI bot came up with on how you can make both direct and indirect impacts on the current crisis in Minnesota.

Supporting immigrant families in Minnesota can be done through donating to legal aid and community organizations, volunteering, providing direct mutual aid, and advocating for policy changes.
Key organizations to support include the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, International Institute of Minnesota, and the Women's Foundation of Minnesota.

Key Ways to Support Immigrant Families in MN:
Donate to Direct Support & Legal Aid:
Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (ILCM): Provides legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees.

International Institute of Minnesota (IIMN): Offers services for refugees, including housing, education, and employment support.

Immigrant Rapid Response Fund (IRRF): A fund by the Women's Foundation of Minnesota that provides emergency assistance.

Mutual Aid Networks: Support grassroots groups like "Stand With Minnesota" and "Neighbors without Borders" that provide direct aid, including food, household essentials, and rent relief.

Legal Defense Funds: Donate to pay immigration bonds for those detained by ICE.

Volunteer Your Time:

IIMN: Needs volunteers for tutoring, mentoring, and administrative tasks.

Legal Services: Volunteer with the Volunteer Lawyers Network.

Direct Aid: Assist with food drives, such as the Eastside Mutual Aid.

Advocacy and Education:
Know Your Rights: Share "Know Your Rights" information, often provided by organizations like ILCM, to help families prepare for interactions with immigration authorities.

Contact Representatives: Call state and local officials to support policies that protect and fund services for immigrants.

Stand in Solidarity: Participate in peaceful demonstrations and use your voice to advocate against anti-immigrant actions.

Provide Direct Community Support:

Get to know your neighbors, offer help with transportation or groceries, and connect them with local resources.

Support immigrant-owned businesses and restaurants

Everything you do to use your voice for the voiceless matter ♥️♥️♥️

Summers can be hard; kids are home for the next 3 months.

Suddenly there’s more dishes, less groceries, more mess, less patience, and more stress without more support.

You need an outlet. Someone to vent to who understands and relates.

You need a quiet, private, comfortable place that you can go, and safely let all of your thoughts escape your brain! Somewhere that invites you to take the heavy load off of your shoulders and someone to assure you that you don’t have to pick it back up again.

I’m here to provide that outlet; that assurance.

But beyond that, I’m here to help you learn the skills and tools that help you reduce your stress by processing it in a healthy way.

I’m finally opening my Wednesday afternoons to see clients in-person and on Telehealth.

I have Wednesdays at 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm available starting June 4th 😊

If you’ve been to therapy in the past, have thought about going but haven’t taken the leap, or are just now... on THIS post, realizing that you need someone to talk to; reach out.

I’d love to talk to you about working together!

(Some additional appointment spots are also available)

Don’t shrink, dim, or dumb yourself down for anyone. You’re worth being your authentic self.
