Credit Card Skimming is on the rise in our area. Skimmers can be found anywhere a credit card is used to make a purchase, including: gas pumps, ATMs, retail/POS (point-of-sale) terminals mounted at the counter, or self-checkout.

Look at the credit card machine before inserting your credit card. If you see signs of tampering, such as loose-fitting parts or tape/glue, notify the business immediately.

Shield your PIN from view as you enter it.

If your card becomes stuck inside the machine, stay with the machine and call your bank immediately to report the loss.

If you locate a skimmer device or suspicious activity related to skimming, report it to the business and local law enforcement immediately.

Always check your credit card statements for unfamiliar or fraudulent transactions.

If possible, pay using Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, or Android Pay. These contactless payment services tokenize your credit card information, so your real data is never exposed.
