🏔️ Kevin just got back from an incredible week in Colorado! He ran his first trail marathon — the Blue Sky Trail Marathon — and really put his limits to the test. 💪🏻 The course winds through the foothills of Fort Collins with steep climbs, rocky trails, and amazing mountain views. 🏔️

He also attended the Anatomy Trains Dissection Lab with his good friend and colleague Jenn, and they both had an awesome experience diving deeper into anatomy.🫀

And because Jenn’s a great influence 😅… she’s already convinced him to sign up for a 50-mile MST 100 Endurance Ultra Marathon next!

🤨What is a Structural Integrator?🧐

A Structural Integrator is a practitioner trained in a bodywork method (often called Structural Integration, originally developed by Dr. Ida Rolf) that focuses on improving the body’s alignment, posture, and movement by working with the fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs).

Here’s the idea in a nutshell:
• Everyday habits, injuries, and stress can pull the body out of balance.
• This imbalance shows up as poor posture, pain, stiffness, or limited mobility.
• A Structural Integrator uses hands-on techniques to release restrictions in the fascia and restore balance throughout the body.
• The goal is to help people move more freely, reduce pain, improve performance, and feel better overall

When someone becomes an Advanced Structural Integrator, like Kevin just did 🎉, it means they’ve gone beyond the fundamentals and now have specialized tools and techniques to work with more complex patterns in the body.

‼️ Class Highlights: Understanding & Working with Scoliosis: Level 1 ‼️

This past weekends training with Dr.Meredith Stephens was filled with insight and practical tools we can bring right into hands-on work. Some of the biggest takeaways included:

* how to asses different types of scoliosis patters with confidence
* Hands-on techniques to support spinal alignment, mobility, and ease of movement
* Incorporating breath work to reach optimal results

The class was both engaging and impactful~ everyone left with practical skills, new perspectives, and the motivation to apply these tools to help clients feel and function at their best! 💙

A new study strengthens the growing focus on the Deep Adipose Tissue (DAT) layer—situated in the deeper part of the subcutaneous connective tissue and distinct from the Superficial Adipose Tissue—as a frequent source of myofascial pain dysfunctions. For manual therapists, this adds further support to the assumption that techniques involving shear or cupping-like traction may be more effective than relying solely on vertical pressure.
