👋 Get to Know Dr. Hoggatt!
We thought it was time to shine the spotlight on one of the people behind all those clear vision moments — Dr. Brant Hoggatt! 👓
Here are a few fun facts about your favorite eye doc 👇
💬 Q: What inspired you to become an optometrist?
🅰️ A: I had a lot of great experiences with my optometrist growing up, even though I never needed glasses or contacts. He would always let my brother and I look into the microscope while he was doing our exams and it made me fascinated with eyes at a young age!
💬 Q: Do you have a favorite area of eye care (kids, contacts, glasses, eye health)?
🅰️ A: I actually enjoy a good mix. I really like the medical side of eye care—managing things like glaucoma and diabetes feels meaningful because you’re helping protect vision long-term. At the same time, I like dabbling in specialty lenses like sclerals, since it’s so rewarding when someone who’s been struggling finally gets comfortable, clear vision. And of course, I enjoy routine refractive care too—it’s hard to beat the simple satisfaction of helping someone see clearly again. That variety keeps things interesting for me.
💬 Q: Where did you grow up?
🅰️ A: I grew up in Mishawaka and attended Mishawaka schools from kindergarten through high school. Go Cavemen!
💬 Q: What’s your favorite local restaurant in the Elkhart/Goshen area?
🅰️ A: Wedgewood Brewing Company holds a special place in my heart, and I often have difficulty overcoming a craving for the buffet at Essenhaus.
When Dr Hoggatt isn't at the office, you might see him walking around the parks of Elkhart county with his wife, Haley, and their dog, Hank!
