Beacon Radiology is offering lung cancer screening appointments on Saturday, Nov. 8. Act now to take advantage of this event:

First, talk to your primary care provider to get a referral order.

Then, call 574.647.7700 to book your screening appointment. Providers may fax orders to 574.647.2200.

If you have a long history of smoking, you might be at a higher risk for lung cancer. Rather than taking a “wait and see” approach, why not get a simple screening (that takes about one minute and is painless) and put your mind at ease.

Early detection can save lives. Take the first step today.

At Beacon, we know that moms, dads and families want to keep their babies safe. That's why the St. Joseph County Fetal Infant Mortality Review Program at Beacon Community Impact is leading the "Babies Need to Breathe” campaign. This two-year initiative has the bold goal of zero sleep-related infant deaths by 2027.

Sleep-related deaths are the leading cause of death for infants over one week old who go home from the hospital after delivery in St. Joseph County, and account for about 20% of all infant deaths. But these tragedies are preventable.

"I hope this campaign helps our community understand that sleep-related deaths are preventable," said Sally Dixon, Beacon's Maternal Infant Health Coordinator. "They have the power to protect their babies by remembering and practicing the steps that help their babies breathe easy during every sleep."

Learn how about this initiative and how you can become a Safe Sleep Ambassador and be part of this lifesaving work in our community. Read more and watch recent media interviews: https://bit.ly/4ntMiDq
