💆‍♀️🤗 relaxing massage from a friend

🥗 bright + cheerful salad
🍷with a side of kombucha (in a wine glass, cause why not?!)

🌱gifted homegrown dill, Thai basil + tarragon sprinkled on said salad.

2 days of shoveling this week already + we are expecting 10-15" of snow by tomorrow night.

First trip out for shoveling heavy snow fall + chicken chores...

Looks like a white out across the field. 32° 22mph winds. Dressed in wool layers so I was never cold. Spent 50 minutes working. 💪 burned 951 calories (much more than I ate for breakfast!)

Thankful for a sweaty workout + fresh air.

Cleared snow off the roof top of the chicken coop (which then forced snow through the small ventilation slits + down inside the coop + run. Cleaned all the snow out for them, replaced their frozen water, filled them up with food + snacks + healthy, calming herbs. They were singing happily! Told them, if I ever come back a chicken, I want to be them! Makes me feel good to care for them so well that we continue to get 1-2 eggs daily this week, even through the blizard!

Spent the afternoon outside.
Shoveled compost.
Amended the raised bed.
Planted 107 garlic bulbs.
Packed away the garden trellises + cleaned out the tomatoes cages.

Yesterday leaves were raked (left them in the garden)
+ rain barrel put away.
Feels good to check off some seasonal 'To do's.'

We celebrated Samhain with time outdoors. My husband in a tree stand + me with the chickens in crisp fresh air, time in the garden harvesting the last of the butternut squash + corn stalks for front porch decor. Quiet journaling time. Then I prepared soul cakes, warmed vension chili + baked bread. We enjoyed a relaxing evening by candlelight honoring our ancestors.

Samhain, is an ancient Celtic end of harvest season + entrance to the darker half of the year. Many aspects of Halloween that we see today have their roots in the original Samhain.

April showers have been hangin' around + i don't mind.

Yesterday's thunder made a great background for clients during their relaxing rainy day massage. + the earth will drink it in.
