Happiness is … Happy, healthy children! 😃

Children’s Mental Health Week raises awareness and the importance of mental health support for our youth by focusing on helping children feel they belong and have safe, secure environments.

In 2025, nearly 20% of adolescents screened positive for depression nationwide. Encouraging children of all ages to live happy, healthy lifestyles is something we take seriously!

February serves as a reminder to focus on our mental and emotional well-being. It’s essential to promote self-check routines to avoid long term mental health challenges.

National Self-Check Month aims to encourage self-empowering habits, provide tools and resources for healthy routines, and motivate individuals to take early detection action. Discussing mental health can be challenging for some, however, by talking to loved ones and professionals about concerns can significantly reduce long term effects.

🚨 It is our responsibility to take charge of our mental health! Don’t forget to download your daily reflections sheets and reach out for professional support when needed!

💡 Our days are becoming shorter with less daylight. Don’t forget to turn on your own light!

December is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Awareness Month to raise awareness about depression that can occur during the winter months. Commonly known as “winter blues,” SAD is a type of depression that can mimic one or more depression symptoms such as:

•Sad, anxious, or “empty” feelings.
•Feelings of hopelessness, guilt, worthlessness, or helplessness.
•Loss of interest or pleasure in formerly enjoyable activities.
•Fatigue and decreased energy.
•Overeating (or conversely, lack of appetite).
•Difficulty concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions.
•Social withdrawal.
•Thoughts of death or su***de.

It is important to seek help if you are experiencing “winter blues.” Treatments can include light therapy, antidepressants, vitamin D supplements, talk therapy, and much more.
