As another wonderful preschool year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to the congregation of Elkin First United Methodist Church for your continued love, prayers, encouragement, and support throughout this school year.

Because of your kindness and generosity, our preschool continues to be a place where children are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and introduced to the love of Christ each and every day. From the smiles and conversations in the hallways to the prayers lifted up for our students, staff, and families, your support has helped make this another successful and meaningful year of ministry and learning.

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Charlie Bellia and Peter Graham for all of their help with our Preschool Graduation ceremony. Your willingness to serve and support our students and families helped make the evening so special and memorable.

Additionally, we are incredibly thankful for Dr. Kaury, Ms. Janice, Mrs. Christian, Ms. Pat, Mrs. Amy, Mrs. Nancy and Mrs. Ali, our preschool board, Franky Batten, and the Church Trustees, who continually go out of their way to ensure our preschool program has everything we need. Your constant support, encouragement, and care for our staff and students never goes unnoticed, and we are so grateful for each of you.

This year has been filled with so many sweet memories, milestones, friendships, laughter, and growth, and we are thankful to be part of such a loving church family.

Parents and families,

What a wonderful school year it has been! Thank you for allowing us the privilege and opportunity to love on your babies, teach them, encourage them, and watch them grow throughout this past year. It has truly been such a blessing to be part of their lives and your families.

From the very first days of school to our final hugs and delicious ice cream, we have cherished every moment, memory, laugh, milestone, and friendship made along the way. We are so thankful for all of your kindness, support, encouragement, and trust throughout the school year.

We hope each of you has a fantastic summer filled with fun, rest, adventures, and special time together as families. We already cannot wait to see everyone again next school year! ☀️🍦

Water Day is always a favorite for both the teachers and the students ...

I wasn’t kidding when I said my favorite part of my career is getting to play with kids all day—they’re far less intimidating… and as proven tonight, public speaking is definitely my least favorite part.

But equally, one of my absolute favorite parts of what I do is the teachers I get to work alongside every single day.

Every year, without fail, I walk away from Graduation Night feeling like I didn’t give them nearly enough recognition or praise for all the hard work they pour into this preschool. I get flustered, start mumbling, and apparently this year I just started praying out loud. 😅

Truthfully, we are so much more than coworkers. This year has been especially demanding in so many ways for our teachers. There have been many changes, lots of firsts, unexpected challenges, and moments that could have easily overwhelmed most people. Yet these incredible individuals continued to show up every single day with love, patience, grace, and strength.

Each age group brings its own unique demands, but preparing these little ones for Kindergarten carries a whole different level of responsibility—doing your very best to make sure you’ve given them everything you possibly can before they move on to their next adventure in education.

Mrs. Angie, Mr. Caid, Mrs. Hannah, and Mrs. Lori pour so much thought, intentionality, and love into their lessons, all with the hope of creating a fun, hands-on, Christ-centered learning environment where the children don’t even realize how much they’re learning… they just think they’re having fun.

So once again, I just want to say how amazing, talented, compassionate, God-fearing, and faith-filled this group of teachers truly is. I am incredibly blessed to call them both my coworkers and my friends.

Thank you all so much for everything you do. Words will never fully express the love, gratitude, and appreciation I have for each one of you. 💛

We are so excited to share that one of our preschool families is part of the new Sprout & Play Indoor Playground! 🌱💛

This is such a fun and welcoming environment for children and parents alike. Over the summer, it would be a wonderful place for your little ones to meet up with friends, continue building those sweet preschool friendships, and burn off some energy while moms and dads enjoy a little adult conversation and community too. 😊

Please help us support this wonderful family and their new adventure—we are so excited for them!

🎓 Congratulations to Ms. Alexis and Ms. Ronda! 🎓

We are so proud to celebrate these two wonderful ladies and their incredible accomplishments!

Ms. Alexis graduated this past weekend from Surry Community College with her Associate in Arts degree and will be continuing her education this fall at Appalachian State University, where she plans to study Psychology. While we certainly hate to see her go, we are beyond proud of her and all she has accomplished. She assures us she will still come back to visit often, and we know she has a very bright future ahead of her!

Ms. Ronda also graduated this weekend from Wilkes Community College with her degree in Early Childhood Education, and we are thrilled that she has chosen to continue serving right here at the preschool using her degree and gifts to love and teach our students.

Please help us congratulate both of these amazing ladies on these major milestones. We are so blessed to have them as part of our preschool family and honored to celebrate alongside them!
