Like so many of our holidays, Samhain, Halloween, and All Souls/Saints Day were born of season. This period transitioning from harvest into late autumn with its colder/darker days/frosts/fires, ushered in a time when the veil between present and spirit world was said to be thinnest.

Allhallowstide offers a time to embrace the yin and yang of life and death. Traditionally, we go out into the night souling for soul-cakes, or trick or treat sweets that help us celebrate this bittersweet life with friends, neighbors and ancestors.

🌿Plants (mushrooms and herbs) contain biochemical compounds that act as signaling molecules in the brain and immune system – but they can't perform magic.
