Along with general orthopedics, there is a special interest in Joint Replacement Surgery & Sports Medicine. Our mission is to provide outstanding orthopedic care to the citizens of Elkins, WV & the surrounding areas. By offering a variety of clinical and surgical orthopedic services in a "patient first" environment, the doctors and staff of Tygart Valley Orthopedics will ensure a health care experience of the highest quality. They will provide an experienced and total evaluation of your needs and determine which intervention is best for you. Dr. Topping & Dr. Pavlovich perform surgery at Davis Medical Center (Davis Memorial Hospital) in Elkins, which was named "Best Joint Care Hospital in West Virginia" by a nationally recognized health care reporting agency. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, WV. Dr. Topping & Dr. Pavlovich provide care for multiple orthopedic problems with the exception of neck and back complaints. Dr. Topping's patients require a referral before being seen by the physician but Dr. Pavlovich's patients do not require a referral. Our office employs Physician Assistants that will be providing patient care along with the physician. The PA's assist the physician in surgery and provide routine and post operative care. Our office also employs a Certified Athletic Trainer that assists in providing care to our sports medicine patients. Dr. Topping also offers a clinic once a month at Moorefield. Please bring the following items with you to your appointment: Current insurance cards, a list of all current medications and allergies, any prior x-rays, MRI, or Nerve Conduction Studies. Also if you have stents, please bring those cards. Most insurance plans & West Virginia Workers Compensation are accepted, but please feel free to contact the office with any questions regarding your insurance. A pre-surgical workup at office will be scheduled prior to your surgery. Any questions you have regarding your surgery will be answered at this time. Post surgical instructions will be provided to you during your workup. Additional instructions will be provided to you and your family following your surgical procedure. If you are interested in a Total Joint Replacement, classes are available through Davis Medical Center (Davis Memorial Hospital) to address questions concerning anesthesia, home health care, and physical therapy.
