Yay Yoga!!!

“I did [a lot] of yoga when I was on board the ISS, and it’s actually not that hard to do,” she said. “In some ways, way more fun to do ... There are some poses that are tough. The standing poses I don’t necessarily get as much out of. But a lot of the stretching poses are great. So yes, yoga’s fantastic.” - Astronaut Christina Koch, the first woman to travel around the Moon.

Congratulations to all of the Artemis II crew. Welcome home, Integrity!

If you’re dealing with ongoing neck or shoulder tension, it’s often not just physical—it’s also tied to habitual tension patterns and the nervous system.

Clenching the jaw. Holding the shoulders up. Bracing without realizing it.

In this workshop, we’ll take a deeper yoga therapeutics approach to:
• Gently release chronic muscular tension
• Improve alignment to reduce strain on the spine
• Introduce breathing and relaxation techniques to calm the system
• Address jaw, neck, and shoulder tension as a connected pattern

You’ll walk away with tools that help not just during practice—but in the moments your body needs them most.

Most neck and shoulder discomfort doesn’t come from one big moment—it comes from repeated daily habits.

Looking down. Reaching forward. Carrying weight. Sitting for long periods.
In this workshop, we’ll break down the “why” behind those patterns and how they affect your body over time.

Using simple, accessible yoga practices, you’ll learn how to:
• Reduce forward head positioning
• Improve range of motion in the neck and upper back
• Build strength where your body needs support
• Make small adjustments to everyday movements that actually stick

The goal isn’t perfection—it’s awareness and change you can sustain.

You’ll also receive:
• A take-home handout
• Workshop recording

If you’ve been dealing with neck or shoulder tension—and keep thinking “I should probably do something about this…”—this is your reminder.

This workshop isn’t just about stretching or temporary relief. It’s about understanding why the tension keeps showing up and what your body actually needs to change it.

We’ll look at common patterns like forward head positioning, muscle imbalance, and habitual tension—and work through simple, practical ways to:
• reduce strain on the neck and upper back
• improve posture without forcing it
• build support through strength and alignment
• release tension that keeps coming back

You’ll leave with tools you can actually use—whether you’re at your desk, driving, or moving through your day.

Neck and shoulder tension isn’t just about being “tight.”

Often, it’s a combination of overworking muscles and under-supporting ones—especially around the shoulder girdle and upper spine. The result? Strain, fatigue, and discomfort that keeps coming back.

In this workshop, we’ll take a yoga therapeutics approach to:
• Identify common imbalance patterns in the neck and shoulders
• Release chronically tight muscles without overstretching
• Strengthen the stabilizers that support healthy alignment
• Reconnect strength and mobility so they work together

This isn’t about forcing flexibility—it’s about creating balanced, sustainable support in your body.

If your day involves a laptop, phone, or long hours sitting, there’s a good chance your head is subtly drifting forward—and your neck and shoulders are paying the price.

This workshop focuses on the common pattern often called “forward head syndrome,” where the head sits in front of the spine instead of being supported over it. For every inch forward, it significantly increases the load on your neck and upper back.

Through a yoga therapeutics approach, we’ll work on:
• Restoring mobility in the upper spine
• Releasing tension in the neck, chest, and shoulders
• Strengthening the deeper postural muscles that support alignment
• Simple, practical adjustments you can apply immediately

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what’s driving your discomfort—and tools to start changing it.

Do your hips feel tight no matter how much you stretch?
Do your hamstrings pull on your low back every time you bend forward?

It may not just be “tightness.” It may be imbalance.

When we sit and fold forward all day, certain muscles overwork while others weaken. Until we understand that pattern, we keep reinforcing it — even in yoga.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
• Open the hips safely
• Reduce chronic hamstring tension
• Strengthen the deeper core and glutes
• Support your lower back with smarter alignment

Small shifts create big change.
