Fall weather with raw temps and winds is perfect for beating up your immune system.
Covering your neck will help protect you. According to Chinese medicine, cold and infectious entities can enter your system more easily through the back of the neck. I do know that cold on the back of my neck can give me a headache.

As we head toward the winter solstice, it's getting darker by the day. I find it gets harder to get up in the morning when it's dark, especially on early days.
Keeping a consistent schedule really helps. Our bodies get programmed to wake and be ready to sleep at a particular time with consistency.
Since I have a somewhat irregular schedule, it doesn't seem like something I want to do, but it really helps.

As someone who runs a bit damp, at least in Chinese medical terms, I am thoroughly enjoying today's clear breezy weather.
Damp, in TCM (so called Traditional Chinese Medicine, created in the 1950's and 60's), leaves you feeling slow, heavy, tired, fuzzy headed and phlegmy. So you can understand the relief this weather offers.
There are many foods that contribute to that dampness and some, but not all, can easily be eliminated from the diet. Sugar , grease and dairy are big culprits.

All of us living creatures are energetic beings. You can look at it as though the spirit is the energy that infuses the body we inhabit. We burn food as our fuel, releasing that energy to fuel our body.

This is why energy medicine is so effective in treating what ails us.
Energetic modalities that I use include Polarity Therapy, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Reflexology, Chakra Balancing, I also use Sound, Crystals, Essential Oils, Food and Movement as tools.
Acupuncture is also extremely useful to alter the energetic patterns of the body.

I am trained in and practice multiple modalities of hands-on healing work. Polarity Therapy is the one that I request when I'm receiving a session and it's the modality I love doing the most.
The problem with Polarity is that so few people are familiar with it. It's brilliant and simple and complex. Everyone practices it differently, and every session is different.
The energy work most people are familiar with is reiki. While there are some superficial similarities, Polarity is a much bigger bag of trix.
In Polarity, we use talk, touch, food and movement to balance the 5 ayurvedic elements with the aim of allowing the client to move through their life at ease and in dynamic balance. It's hard to describe simply, but, once we get comfortable with the tools and techniques, it is simple.

It's pollen season in the Hudson Valley. So, if your allergies are going crazy, it's no surprise.
Rinse your sinuses daily and you may get through the season.
I've described how a couple of times on this page.

Also, the big daily variations in temperatures mean you will need a jacket. Just bring it. You may not want it, but if you're cold, that's really uncomfortable and beats up your immune system.
