Thank you to Liberty Legacy Law Group for sponsoring last night’s Memory Cafe. Melissa Paddy and Kaitlyn Tauber opened their practice in Ellicott City last year and focus on wills, trusts, elder law, and Medicaid planning. They are fantastic to work with and a great resource for our community.

Memory Café offers a warm and supportive space for individuals living with Alzheimer’s or related dementias and the family caregivers who support them. The Howard County Memory Café continues to grow and remains one of our favorite events each month. Right at Home is honored to begin our 14th year helping support and sustain this special community.

A special thank you to Kathy, Regina, and Kami from the Howard County Office on Aging for their ongoing commitment to our community and for helping bring people together through their support and partnership.

Always a great event!

We are sending the biggest, warmest thank you to the Rotary Club of Columbia/Patuxent for sponsoring the most beautiful Moonlight Memories Date Night last week. Because of their kindness, individuals living with dementia and their families were able to step into an evening filled with love, laughter, and connection.

There was so much joy to go around—couples swaying on the dance floor, smiles glowing in the photo booth, and everyone savoring delicious, sweet treats from Right at Home of Howard County and refreshing sips from Sobar. Seeing the love between partners and families light up the room was truly something special.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped fill the evening with light. Stay tuned—more sweet memories from the night will be shared on the Winter Growth website and in our newsletters.

The success of any home care provider starts with a strong, skilled, and compassionate team of caregivers.

This morning, Dementia Nurse Andrea led a training designed specifically for our caregivers titled Discovering Dementia: Essential Knowledge and Care Strategies for Healthcare Professionals.

The session focused on practical dementia education, including types and symptoms, communication techniques, behavior support, and medication considerations. Our caregivers were fully engaged and eager to continue strengthening their skills to better serve the clients and families who rely on them. The Dementia Live simulation offered a meaningful, hands on perspective that reinforced the importance of patience and understanding in dementia care.

As always, thank you to Andrea for sharing your knowledge and passion. We are grateful for the partnership and already looking forward to the next session.

We were proud to take part in National Wear Red Day at the Residences at Vantage Point. It was great to join residents and staff in raising awareness for heart health and supporting such an important cause. After an incredible 2025 of Memory Café, we celebrated our first café of 2026, and what an amazing turnout it was!

Last night, we were honored to bring Dementia Live to the beautiful Brighton Gardens of Columbia, Sunrise Senior Living. The session provides valuable perspective on the challenges faced by individuals living with dementia, including a live scenario where loved ones are placed in the shoes of those experiencing the condition.

Thank you to Jasmine and Toni for hosting the event, and to Dementia Nurse Andrea for providing such a meaningful and informative presentation.
