Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant-An LSMMD Community

Together, we can create the life you want, filled with fitness, relaxation, fine dining and more. Today, nearly 350 older adults call LVMG home.

Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant in Howard County welcomed its first residents in 2016. The community provided person-centered care and opportunities for residents to live the best life possible, and partners with community and educational organizations that share a passion for service and support for older adults. The care continuum allows residents access to on-site health care. LVMG is a Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland community.

Guests enjoyed classic jazz and swing from the Great American Songbook, featuring favorites by George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, plus a lively touch of klezmer. Seth’s engaging stories and musical insight made the performance even more special.

Happy 10 year anniversary Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant!

Over the past 10 years, LVMG has grown into a place where residents thrive, friendships flourish and team members bring compassion and excellence to every day. From unforgettable events and innovative programs to meaningful moments shared between residents and team members, LVMG has truly become a place many are proud to call home.

Recently, we hosted a special celebration commemorating LVMG’s 10-year anniversary — a joyful gathering filled with reflection, gratitude and excitement for what’s to come. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people and moments that have shaped our first decade together.

To our residents, families, team members and supporters — thank you for being part of our story. Your trust, dedication and spirit have shaped LVMG into the warm, welcoming community it is today.

We were thrilled to welcome back Ain’t Misbehavin’ Big Band, a longtime favorite here at Miller’s Grant! With timeless tunes spanning the 1920s to today, their lively mix of jazz, swing, fox trot, samba, cha-cha, polka and more filled the room with toe-tapping rhythms and smooth harmonies.

There’s something special about big band music. It brings generations together, sparks memories and reminds us that some classics never go out of style.

Our Open Hands, Open Hearts chaplaincy group came together to prepare 70 lunches for the Howard County Cold Weather Shelter at the Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center in Columbia. And the generosity didn’t stop there—thanks to so many talented bakers, we had plenty of cookies to share, including five big bags delivered to the Ellicott City Volunteer Fire Department.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave their time, talent and kindness to support our neighbors in need. Moments like these show the power of community.

Creativity was glowing at this recent resident life and life enrichment event!

Residents got hands-on making whimsical, working night lights using old Coke bottles, papier-mâché,and colorful tissue paper. From upcycling everyday items to lighting up the room, it was a fun, imaginative way to craft something truly one of a kind.

Proof that a little creativity—and a lot of community—can really shine 💡

Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening of the LVMG Team Member Lounge! There are arcade games, a television, a foosball table and more. 😊

Team members stopped by to enjoy a warm welcome, complete with tropical treats to sip and snack on. We’re excited to officially open this new space designed just for our team to relax, recharge and connect.

Recently, pianist Brian Ganz delivered an exhilarating, masterful performance of Chopin, earning a well-deserved standing ovation from attendees. The evening was made even more special as several of our board members joined us to witness the dedication of our new Steinway, marking an exciting milestone for LVMG and the future of performances in this beautiful new space.

It was an inspiring night of music, artistry and celebration.
