This Wellness Wednesday we're highlighting the importance of maintaining healthy sleep hygiene. π΄
Sleep deprivation reduces activity in the prefrontal cortex β the area responsible for judgment, impulse control, and emotional regulation. Research shows that poor sleep increases emotional reactivity and stress sensitivity.
Supporting healthy sleep habits is a protective factor for mental health and sustained recovery. Rest is not optional, it is necessary for restoration and recovery.
