UPDATE: The Wichita Police Department reported that Lucy Daniels was located safe. The statewide silver alert has been canceled. Thanks for your assistance during the alert.

EARLIER:
🚨PLEASE SHARE - STATEWIDE SILVER ALERT 🚨

The Wichita Police Department requested we issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Wichita woman.

The whereabouts of 78-year-old Lucy Daniels are unknown, and public assistance is requested to help locate her.

Daniels is likely driving a navy blue 2021 Chevrolet Silverado with no license plate, or possibly a temporary tag. She was last seen on Aug. 14, at approximately 10 p.m.

Daniels is a black female who is around 5 foot 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last known wearing a multi-colored nightgown and a brown head wrap. Daniels has Alzheimer’s and walks with a limp.

If you see Daniels or her vehicle, please call 911 immediately. If you have other information about her whereabouts, please call the Wichita Police Department at (316) 268-4111.

July 16, 2025

Ellinwood, KS — Emergency responders have successfully completed a complex rescue operation at the Ellinwood water tower. A male subject with a water tower cleaning crew, who fell earlier today while working inside the structure, has been safely removed from the tower.

The patient is in stable condition and is being transported by air to a Wichita hospital for further medical evaluation.

Crews from Ellinwood Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, and Great Bend Fire provided coordinated technical rescue support throughout the incident, ensuring the patient’s safe extrication and care.

We are grateful for the swift and professional response from all agencies involved.

July 16, 2025

Ellinwood, KS — Emergency responders have made significant progress in the ongoing rescue operation at the Ellinwood water tower. The male subject with a water tower cleaning crew, who fell earlier today while working inside the structure. Patient has now been safely moved out of the tower’s interior.

Technical rescue teams are currently working to lower the patient to the ground with the utmost care and coordination. The individual remains conscious and is being closely monitored by EMS personnel throughout the operation.

Crews from Ellinwood Fire, EMS, LEO and support from Great Bend Fire remain on scene to ensure the patient’s safe extrication and subsequent transport for medical evaluation.

Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
