We had a wonderful time at our resident Christmas party. Santa and Miss Clause came and handed out presents. Then the grinch showed up and tried to take the presents away but we stopped him by warming his heart.

We had a great time last night on the bus singing every Christmas song we knew and some we didnt! Then seeing the Christmas lights at Tilles Park's Winter Wonderland was spectacular! This was our third trip there, and we will go one more time on Thursday; getting as many of our residents out for this wonderful outing as we can. And of course there was hot chocolate and Christmas cookies too!! What a great day!!

Here are a few pictures from our Veteran's Day Program this year. It was the best ceremony I have experienced in a long time because of all the ways it was made personal, i.e. our Ellisville Mayor with his humor and heartfelt thoughts, Catholic Volunteer who shared the touching story of her family coming to this country and becoming citizens, Ik's beautiful prayer, Mark, Activity Team, sharing his power point presentation of pictures of our veterans, and several picture boards he put together, singers Ashton and Emily sharing their beautiful voices, and Veteran Volunteer Event Coordinator, Bob Morris putting it all together, and having such passion for our Veterans all year long. We hornor and appreciate our Veterans past and present and their families. May God be with you!

Today we loaded the bus and visited the Missouri Civil War Museum at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. It was very fitting on this Veteran's Day to visit with 4 of our veterans, and read about all that has gone on throughout the centuries at this historic site. We honor our veterans and are forever thankful for all those who serve to protect our freedoms in this land. May God bless you all on this special day of remembrance.

Here are some pics from our Halloween Party on Hawthorne Place. Everyone had a great time creating Halloween wooden cutouts, and were so proud of their paintings. We enjoyed party snacks of pigs-in-a-blanket, chips and cheese, and orange "ice scream" floats! Happy Halloween!

We had a spookyacular night at Boo at the Zoo," seeing all the "bootiful" lights displays, and all the little children dressed up in their costumes! When we got back to the bus we gobbled down sack lunches provided by Chef Jimmy and the students from the Special School District and Hot Chocolate. Yum! It was an amazing night!

We had a very enjoyable lunch at Cracker Barrel today in Fenton. The food was delicious, good time of getting to know one another better talking about where we grew up, etc, and then a little shopping for treats like saltwater taffy and pretty bracelets. Here's a few pics.

We had an amazing day yesterday for our annual Fall Festival. The weather was perfect, everyone came down to the main dining room for chili, hot dogs and pie! The staff had a chili cook-off and pumpkin decorating contest. Our balloon artist Spunky Beans was back with us again, creating both beautiful and funny balloons for our residents to enjoy. Outside we had games and a wonderful petting zoo from Cowboy Critters. We were able to feed the animals and love on them!! We were so happy to see old friends and lots of family members spending the afternoon with us! What a wonderful day!!
