Help us welcome John B. Harris IV to our JFMC family. If you haven’t met John at the main clinic yet, you will soon find him at our Bay Springs location.

John B. Harris IV, FNP

He is from Rose Hill, MS. He is a graduate of Heidelberg Academy and attended the University of South Alabama. John worked as an RN and most recently worked as a Nurse Practitioner for Specialty Physician Services, LLC, Cardiothoracic Surgery.

John and his wife Hillary have two children who both attend Sylva Bay Academy in Bay Sprinfs. When not providing quality healthcare to his community, John enjoys playing music and working out at the gym.

Help us welcome Kelsa to our JFMC family!

Kelsa Shirley, RN, BSN, MSN, FNP-BC

Kelsa Shirley is a nurse practitioner who specializes in family practice. She received her ADN from JCJC in 2003. During her 11 years as an RN, she has worked in several speciality areas including labor and delivery, pulmonology, pediatrics, and post-surgical Med surg. Her passion for nursing and drive to continue her education led her to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. She received her BSN from William Carey University in May of 2014 and from there went on to earn her MSN with emphasis in family practice from South University in Savannah, GA in 2016. For the last 7 years, Kelsa has been working as an FNP in rural communities throughout MS providing care to the undeserved of all ages. She was born and raised in Laurel and very excited for the opportunity to begin practicing in her own community.

She has two beautiful children and enjoys, painting, drawing, live music and attending local events here in town.

Have you met Jarrod?

Jarrod Gant, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, RNFA
Nurse Practitioner

He is from Laurel, MS but resides in the Oak Grove community of Hattiesburg.

He graduated from JCJC with an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts in 2009. He received a Certificate of Practical Nursing from JCJC in 2012. In 2016, he received an Associate’s degree of Applied Science from Meridian Community College. In 2017, he received his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 2019, he completed his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at USM with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner.

Since completing his degree and receiving national board certification, he has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings as a nurse practitioner. He is currently enrolled at UMMC and will graduate in May 2024 with a Doctor of Health Administration degree.

We would like to welcome Johanna to our team! You will find her at our Ellisville location.

A little about Johanna:

As a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner at JFMC, Johanna provides urgent care services, and primary care to patients throughout the community. Those services include treating minor illnesses and injuries, chronic conditions and provides preventative measures to keep patients safe and healthy.

Johanna has always had a love of learning and works hard to stay up to date with the latest developments and best practice recommendations in order to provide safe and effective care to her patients. She maintains membership with several professional associations including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, and the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania in 2008. Johanna enjoyed eleven fulfilling years in hospital settings in various specialties including emergency care, pain management, PICC team, labor & delivery, neonatal intensive care, quality management, and hospital supervisor. She then obtained a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University and holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a family nurse practitioner. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and has specialized in primary care and urgent care.

When Johanna is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and 3 dogs. She also enjoys volunteering and serving her church and community.
