Today is World Mental Health Awareness Day 💪🧠

Recovery from sports injuries isn’t only about the body, it’s also about the mind.
✨ Injuries can bring stress, fear, and frustration.
✨ Sports physical therapy helps build confidence, create structure, and celebrate every step forward.
✨ Rehab also strengthens resilience, focus, and mental toughness.

Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. Let’s support both

💭 Where’s your pain coming from?

🤕 Shoulder pain can have different causes depending on where you feel it:
🔹 Back of the shoulder (posterior): Often linked to the rotator cuff
🔹 Side of the shoulder (lateral): May be related to impingement
🔹 Front of the shoulder (anterior): Usually points to the biceps

It’s not just about easing the pain, it’s about finding and fixing the real cause.

If stretching or massage haven’t helped, it could be due to adhesion or instability. These can lead to nerve entrapment, loss of function, and pain that keeps coming back.

💡 What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a skilled technique used by physical therapists to relieve muscle pain and improve movement. By inserting a thin, solid needle into tight or trigger points, dry needling can help:
✅ Reduce muscle tension
✅ Improve blood flow
✅ Speed up recovery
✅ Decrease pain

At Peak Sport and Spine, our certified therapists use dry needling as part of a personalized treatment plan to get you back to moving and feeling your best.

👉 Have questions about whether dry needling is right for you? Ask us at your next visit!

Concussion on the field? 🧠
Don’t “walk it off.”

If you see dizziness, headache, or confusion, stop play, get them checked, and follow safe return-to-play steps.

This Concussion Awareness Month, let’s protect athletes and put safety first. 💯

Tag a teammate, coach, or parent who should see this. And share in the comments, have you or someone you know experienced a concussion in sports?
