Our own CEO recently had the incredible opportunity to join The Libido Lounge to discuss a topic that hits close to home: chronic pelvic pain and how often it’s misunderstood—especially for women.

Too often, we’re told the answer is to “do more Kegels.” But here’s the truth I shared on the podcast: when your pelvic floor is already tense, tightening it more can make things worse.

💡 I described it like this: Imagine your pelvic floor is a dish rag that’s been wound up too tight. What it needs is gentle release—not more pressure.

We dove deep into interstitial cystitis, pelvic floor dysfunction, and why so many women are misdiagnosed or dismissed when it comes to their pain. Instead of defaulting to “strengthening,” I believe it’s time we shift the conversation to understanding, releasing, and healing—starting with pelvic floor physical therapy.

Desert Harvest has spent a few days in North Carolina, where we had the honor of attending the Global Consensus on IC/BPS (Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome) meeting. This gathering brought together the brightest minds and most compassionate hearts in the IC/BPS medical community from around the world—from researchers and clinicians to patient advocates—committed to improving care and deepening understanding of this complex condition.

One of the true highlights of the trip was hosting a dinner for some of the top IC/BPS doctors from around the globe. Sitting at a table filled with such brilliant, passionate experts was both humbling and inspiring. We shared stories, insights, and hopes for the future of IC/BPS treatment—and a few laughs too. It’s moments like these that remind me how powerful collaboration can be in transforming patient care.

Feeling energized by the breakthroughs discussed, the connections made, and the shared vision we all carry: a world where IC/BPS is better understood, and better treated.Stay tuned—exciting breakthroughs are coming home with us, and we can’t wait to share them with our fellow IC warriors.
