Today is World Cl****is Day... and we think that's worth talking about.
At Desert Harvest, we spend a lot of time in conversations that don't happen enough: about pelvic pain, about vulvodynia, about the parts of our bodies that medicine has historically ignored.

This day fits right in. Awareness starts with words. And words start with not being afraid to say them.

To everyone navigating pain in this part of their body, you're seen, you're not alone, and you deserve care. 🌿

πŸŽ™οΈ If you've been told it's "just another UTI," this episode is for you.
Our CEO, Heather Florio, joined Dr. Fenwa Milhouse on Accelerated Health with Sara Banta to unpack why so many women are caught in a cycle of chronic urinary symptoms and repeated antibiotic prescriptions β€” with no real relief in sight.

The truth? The root cause is often something else entirely.
Pelvic floor dysfunction. Hormonal shifts. Inflammation. Vaginal health changes. These are the conversations that too often get skipped in a 10-minute appointment.

Heather and Dr. Milhouse break it all down β€” and give women the language and knowledge to finally advocate for themselves. 🎧 Listen here: https://tr.ee/ngaIF8T6Uq

The IC community has always been at the heart of everything we do at Desert Harvest. That's not marketing β€” it's literally where we came from. πŸ’›
This week, our CEO Heather Florio sat down with Dr. Amy Pearlman on the Pearls & Perspectives podcast to discuss what real, evidence-informed bladder and pelvic health care looks like β€” and how far we've come since our family first began researching aloe vera therapies in the early 90s.
From IC phenotyping to microbiome health to why supplement formulation actually matters, this conversation gets into the details that patients and clinicians don't always get to discuss together. Urology Times

✨ New Podcast Episode: Shedding Shame & Increasing Intimacy ✨

Pelvic and sexual health are too often wrapped in silence β€” and that silence can leave so many feeling dismissed, disconnected, and alone.

In this powerful conversation on The Vocal Pelvic Floor Heather Florio, CEO of Desert Harvest, joins Dr. Ginger Garner to talk openly about:
πŸ’› living with endometriosis
πŸ’› overcoming shame and medical gaslighting
πŸ’› the connection between stress, the nervous system, and pelvic symptoms
πŸ’› reclaiming intimacy, body awareness, and self-advocacy

This episode is a reminder that sexual health is health β€” and your pain, experiences, and voice deserve to be heard.

If you’ve ever struggled to feel understood or wondered where to begin your healing journey, this conversation is for you. 🌿

🎧 Tune in now and join us in breaking the stigma around pelvic and sexual health.

Big news in women’s health: PCOS is officially being renamed to PMOS -Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

Why does this matter? Because the term β€œpolycystic o***y syndrome” never fully reflects what millions of women actually experience. PCOS is far more than ovarian cysts; it’s a complex endocrine and metabolic condition that can impact hormones, insulin resistance, inflammation, fertility, mood, skin, sleep, cardiovascular health, and overall quality of life.

This global consensus, published in The Lancet, represents a major step toward improving awareness, reducing stigma, supporting earlier diagnosis, and helping women receive more comprehensive care.

At Desert Harvest, we’ve always believed women deserve to be heard, validated, and treated holistically, not reduced to a single symptom or misunderstood diagnosis. We’re encouraged to see the medical community moving toward language that better reflects the full-body nature of this condition and the lived experiences of those affected.

Better understanding leads to better care. πŸ’œ

Part 2 of our Physician's Weekly feature is here β€” and it's one of the most honest conversations we've had about the state of IC care. πŸ’¬

Dr. Stephen Walker and our CEO Heather Florio got into the real issues: why the only FDA-approved IC drug is now facing litigation, how patients are being misled by unproven products online, and what it will actually take to move beyond trial-and-error treatment.

If you've been searching for answers β€” and not finding them β€” this one's for you.

Have you ever felt "too much" and "not enough" at the same time β€” too sensitive, too intense, too in your head? For so many women, that feeling has a name that was never given to them.
