We LOVE seeing the next generation get excited about healthcare careers! đŠşâ¨
Today, ECMC had the opportunity to participate in Central Plains Elementary School Career Day â and weâre excited to share that our presentation was praised by K-2 teachers as âthe best ever!â đ
A huge thank you to Dr. Bahr and Ann Ridinger, RN for representing ECMC so incredibly well. They shared about their careers while helping students understand how the skills theyâre learning RIGHT NOW in elementary school â listening, observing, reading, math, and learning to work with others â are the very same skills healthcare professionals use every day to care for patients.
Dr. Bahr wowed students by demonstrating medical tools, including an ultrasound where students could actually see the difference between an artery and a vein. The kids were AMAZED by the imagery! đ
Ann gave students a hands-on look at how an IV is set up using strawberry-flavored straw âveinsâ â which was a huge hit⌠although only a few students discovered they may not love needles quite yet. đđ
Experiences like this help us stay connected to our communities while inspiring the next generation of future nurses, providers, therapists, technicians, and healthcare leaders. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and passion Ann and Josh devoted to 188 young students this morning on behalf of ECMC. đ
And of course, thank you to our recruiter, Sara Oberle, for coordinating this amazing opportunity!
