McCartney Plassmeyer, Senior - Basketball
McCartney exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete, demonstrating excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. A three-year letter winner in basketball and a one-year letter winner in golf, McCartney has also dedicated 12 years to playing baseball, showcasing his versatility and commitment to athletics.
McCartney has played AAU basketball for four years, earning All-Tournament Team honors with his AAU squad this past summer. He has also competed in the Concrete Jungle Elite Basketball League for three years and has been selected to participate in the prestigious Round Ball Classic for three consecutive years—an honor that reflects both his skill and consistency as a player. Recently McCartney scored a career high 29 points against Brashear and is leading the Riverside Panthers to a likely playoff bid, ending their playoff drought.
McCartney’s achievements extend well beyond athletics. He is an Honor Roll and High Honor Roll student who understands the importance of discipline and hard work in all areas of life. He has also made a significant impact in his community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels for over 10 years with his dad and volunteering and supporting Relay for Life for more than eight years.
A natural leader, McCartney is focused on guiding his basketball team to the playoffs this season—something the program has not experienced in quite some time. His leadership, work ethic, and positive attitude set the tone for his teammates every day.
Off the court, McCartney enjoys working alongside his father in the family business and plans to continue that path in the future. He will be attending Penn State Beaver to study business, with hopes of one day taking over the family business, and may continue his basketball career at the collegiate level.
McCartney Plassmeyer is a deserving Athlete of the Month, representing dedication, leadership, and character in everything he does.
